It seems that I crash for having over 4 lines of buffs. Does it do that for everyone? It happens to happen to me and a few other buddies all the time when we receive too many buffs, JAs, etc. Is there any way around it?

Is it a c++ runtime error crash? I have that too, had 4 lines just now.
How many buffs fit in a line? The most buffs you should be able to have are 32, and I just found one source that could crash you if you have exactly 32 buffs, I'll fix it in a second. This may be the key to the recent VW/Delve/BCNM crashes. Do you guys use the cancel_buff method in any of your Lua files? Or any addon that uses it?
I have the C++ crash error even on job I do not use gearswap for.
