So, who's in Incursio?
Xerlic, stop. It's over. Go home.
Kay.
This anime-original ending bothers me so much; why is Run still alive?
Because he didn't die, obviously.
Fuck the haters, for a single season anime this was p.good.
Sure the anime itself was pretty good. But be honest, you guys actually thought the last few episodes were a good ending?
For a single season anime? Yes. Are you upset because every one didn't get a happy ending?
Like I said, as someone who has yet to read the manga, the anime was very good from start to finish.
Lol no. I don't like it because it had tons of cliche's, lots of wasted character development that got cut short for no reason. The final battle Tatsumi had was the generic giant enemy machine gundam thing. His upgrade of the armor was awesome and subsequently wasted right away because he died right after.
I haven't read the manga, but the anime was not good start to finish. It was good start to almost the end.
It's a single season anime that tried to follow the manga for far too long, of course the ending is going to feel rushed when the development in the beginning was taking its time. If they knew from the beginning they were going to go the original route, they should have deviated from the manga long before the stadium fight.
For what it is though, I enjoyed it. Fuck that haters.
"It's a single season anime" is not a good enough excuse for the content itself to be bad. There are plenty of single season anime that have endings that don't feel rushed or unoriginal.
It feels like they didn't plan on it being single season. The example I gave in my FC was that if in Attack on Titan suddenly, around ep 20, Eren was teleported away to fight the Titan King who also happened to be Mikasa. There was no rhyme or reason to a lot of what happened. 1st half gets an A, 2nd half gets a WTF? minus.
They didn't and that's the problem. The sales were well below expectations (Akame ga Kill! manga sells very well) so they cut it to one season. This is confirmed by staff.
Many studios these days are not doing original endings in situations like these; they go for open endings that advertise the source material and hope that enough people buy the books/manga/whatever to fund a second season eventually. It works, usually.
They didn't go that route and paid for it by demanding the author write a rushed ending. So he did, and here's what happens. Maybe he did it to spite them for making him rush the project. Maybe not, who knows? Who cares.
This is also why adaptions rarely EVER work. I dare you to find me more than a handful of adaptions in the last 5 years that are definitively better than their original material. I can think of two, but I won't list them.
Looks like Mangastream picked this up. Maybe to fill Naruto's place? Either way, glad to see this being done by them.
It's a monthly. If UQ Holder didn't get licensed that would have been a good fit.
On topic though. . . DIS NIGGA TATSUMI
Was a reader of the manga before the anime and still thought the anime ending was badass. Just watched it.
