Hunt are by no means perfect, but yeah, people are the main problem here. I don't do hunts atm because it would be too much of a headache, but I sometimes read the shout chat because all the drama is pretty funny at first, but after a while I have to turn it off, as it also becomes depressing. The community is just too horrible in many different ways, lol.

Lolz I wanna see how these ppl abusing the plugin gonna handle this change. Some on my server were blisted/kicked off most hunt shells. Bring on the QQ

Delay is removed. It's almost like it's a player problem and not a tool problem!

JP players tend to overall be more polite and less OMG NEED TO PULL IT NOW NOW NOW too. Remember the queues for BC instances in XI? People standing in line with hands folded...

Best ffxi example for my server would be the fellow quest. Line to outside the zone from the ???. Oddly xi being far more competitive had far more polite people on my server. No clue why but ya shits odd to think about.

I almost never do hunts because of early pulls, still have a ls or two for s ranks if I feel like it.

I think it just stems from more people on each server. Odds of assholes showing up just goes up.

The difference in the way hunts are handled on JP servers vs other servers is really a societal thing, it's kind of interesting really.

Without going too faux-anthropologist, Japanese society places a much stronger emphasis on teamwork and the good of the group.

This is basically antithesis to Western (particularly American) popular thought, which emphasizes personal freedom, individualism, and opportunism (see: being a dick to the detriment of others, "it's my 12.95", etc).

In XI with non-segregated servers the success of JP groups over NA/EU wasn't as stark, but XIV requires much higher levels of teamwork and with that, combined with having regionally segregated servers, the differences becomes much more pronounced.

    Spoiler: show

Welp tbh, its only a few, attention starved lil kiddies who feel the need to "OMFG I NEED TO PULL IT NAO" per server. But a few is all its needed to ruin these.

Except the problem is not with those that pull "early", but the rest that cries about it, blacklists people and so on. People act entitled to all hunts and expect everyone to wait just for THEM before pulling.

  12. #1552

Problem lies in both. Both need to grow the fuck up.

While i can agree, I can't begin to describe the frustration of seeing it "Pop" (LS alerts), Instantly warp out there, and walk over to find it at like 11% or dead. I'm literally instantly dropping and warping and I walk up to it with not even enough time to get minimal rewards.

That is the kind of thing that infuriates me and why I stopped hunting. Unless you literally spot the mob spawning and are in a group, half the time you wont even get kinda close to full credit because impatience. Is 1/2 minute(s) too much to ask ._.? I could make it to almost any hunt in about 1-2 minutes, people past that point are too slow.

Do I shout like a madman when I show up late? Nope, I just think to myself "why do I fall for this trap every time", and go back to what I was doing... so I'm not justifying the public shaming wack jobs... but I do understand the frustration and that maybe if I did Hunts all day, I could find myself plotting the death of certain people.

Unless they increase hunt mob HP again it really doesn't matter, so many people there it can die so fast that almost no one is able to get full credit unless you're 8 WARs dropping the Unchained+Zerk hammer.

Aside from not pulling instantly, people would have to actually be cooperative enough to come only as WHM and tanks to get credit, you've seen how fast shit can die when people don't wait, imagine how fast they'll die when 2-3x as many people are there because half the server had time to show up.

    No

I'm on excalibur and have been doing this since update. I keep my party full just by inviting people who are shouting, I'm about to buy my 5th twine and I don't even no life it. I have work, family, and coil, but when I actually want to hunt I go to the zones and am actively a part of it. I make it to every S that pops and probably 90%-95% of the A's that pop.

Mobs are pulled fast, they die fast, but you all over exaggerate a bit on how "impossible" this all is considering I've farmed almost 15k seals in 5ish days.

Edit: My party usually is 6-8 people, most of which are DD's. We still get full credit even with all the morons i invite that are on SMN/BRD.

You're just a ball of sunshine aren't you?

Yah, fuck those people who might only have one job! Peasant scumbags!

    Spoiler: show
I'm aware SMN is pretty derp because of the oh so fun DoT/Debuff limit on enemies, but doesn't change the fact it might be all they got

Same experience, I've been doing nothing but hunts for the last 3 days and I very rarely miss marks even if I'm not in the zone when they're first called. As long as you go as a WAR or PLD in STR gear and have a healer or another tank with you then you're going to be getting full credit unless you arrive when it's already at sub 20%. This is on Gilgamesh where marks die extremely quickly.

The people I see missing marks often don't utilize shortcuts like Mist/Limsa -> gate for Unktehi, Limsa -> boat for Alec, etc. No wonder how half the server is there and killing the mark before you arrive if you're taking the long route.

If someone only has one job then that's fine, quite a few people just choose to hunt on their mains though when it would be much better to be on something like whm spamming cure3/medica, even if you're naked.

Kinda seems like you're putting words in my mouth and just trying to start a fight though lol
