Master Raven & Bob gameplay (Stream Rips)
Official
A few pages back, I said it clearly: "No Bob, no buy."
Time to pony up.
So, with Master Raven being announced for Tekken 7, has the franchise gender-swapped any not black characters? I kinda want Blade back because sexy, rule 63 Raiden isn't really doing it for me character-wise...
I'm not sure exactly what your asking lol but Katarina is basically the new Lee. There was also an old guy butler pallet swap of Lili in TTT2.
EDIT: Kunimitsu and Wang also started out as mostly clones of Yoshimitsu and Michelle respectively. There was the angel skin for devil.
Uh, the animals have been gender swapped before I believe.
Fair enough, my friend and I were talking about this earlier this afternoon and the Eddie -> Christie, and now Raven -> Master Raven swaps were the only ones we could think of at that moment.
It took a couple weeks, but I finally spent some time playing FR over the weekend. They really went nuts on a few characters. Shaheen was the most surprising to me, as he lost a lot of range on his pokes, and probably won't end up at the top of the tiers like he was in vanilla. Bryan got buffed to the point where he would likely be a tier above everyone else if Akuma didn't exist. Seems like all the Mishimas are super strong now too, even Heihachi who was not that strong in vanilla.
Akuma is just fucking dumb. Tekken characters don't have any real ways to deal with low, fast jumps. The few matches I played against Akuma, it felt like I was paying $.50 to just hold back on the stick for 30 seconds. Jabs were too slow to stop a jump-in, and, at least with Asuka and Kat, you can't really low-profile a jump like some characters can in 2D games. If Akuma gets just outside of jab range, you just have to guess when the jump is coming and try to sidestep, or block and watch the other guy play a video game for a little bit.
Overall, FR is a lot more fun than the last few versions I played of vanilla. Assuming they tone down Akuma a little (make his jumps and demon flips a little floatier, maybe), I think FR has the potential to be up there with TTT1 and T6BR as the best of the series.
Never played Tekken before, can anyone tell me if the game has any boxing characters and if they exist, how good/fun are they to play? I gravitate towards the boxers in most fighting games (Balrog, TJ Combo) because I box, which makes the game more fun and also helps me understand/remember movesets a bit better.
Yes, Steve Fox. I'm not sure how good he is in 7 FR though, but I've never seen him placing high in tourneys so far so probably not that good.

Sweet. I will definitely have to give him a look, thanks.
I can't find a video but I remember the glory days of his 100% combo in Tekken 4, which unlike most of the 100% combos in the game was actually semi-practical.
But lol @ Tekken 4.
Steve is considered A/A- tier in Korea these days. His toolset is spectacular, but he might be the hardest character in the game as far as execution goes.
Here's about an hour of matches of Nin, who is probably the best Steve player in Korea. It's from a couple of weeks ago, so it is very early FR, but it can give you an idea of what the character does.
Wow I had no idea he was that high. But from what I've seen so far is that outside of Akuma tiers feel fairly compressed since combo damage got mostly normalized across the cast, wall/floor break situations notwithstanding.
