Amazing.
Amazing.
Australia is super butthurt that the US roflstomped them
http://screamer.deadspin.com/austral...ium=socialflowThe US certainly like to talk a good game. The reality is they play a fairly rudimentary, bog-standard 4-4-2, were short of ideas going forward and outmanoeuvred tactically. ‘Play it long and look for the head of Wambach’ seems the default game-plan for a team stuck in the past.
World football has moved, in case Jill Ellis hasn’t noticed. US were outplayed by a better, smarter footballing side – who were also without two certain starters in Polkinghorne and keeper Williams – before the Aussies ran out of gas.
US relied on the individual brilliance of Megan Rapinoe to win them this game. And Hope Solo in the US goal saved the Americans on numerous occasions in front of a vocal ‘home’ crowd in Canada. If it wasn’t for this world-class keeper, this could’ve been a different result.
Team USA playing friendly against Germany today at 2:45 EST.
Anyone else watching this? Germany B team putting on a bit of an exhibition but the US has made some good moves in the last 5 mins.
So apparently Bundesliga is gonna be on Fox Sports starting next season. There goes my only reason for not being able to follow it!
#MURICA Friendly sure, but to beat both Netherlands and Germany on their home soil in the same week is pretty good. The more "friendly" wins the better, still should count for the FIFA rankings.
Why should it count for Fifa rankings? Friendlies are meant to be non competitive spaces for teams to try out new things. Wouldn't happen if it affected rankings.
Ummm the entire German defense 4 was B team. Howedes, Boateng, Hummels all missing. Up front they were missing Muller, Kroos, Reus, and Draxler. And their #1 goalie Neuer.
Yeah, US was missing Dempsey and Altidore, but thats 2 vs 9 starters.
It was a good win for the US, but you're kidding yourself if you think it wasn't German B team.

Seattle Sounders played rival Portland Timbers in a U.S. Open Cup match on Tuesday night, and things got out of hand in extra time, as Sounders finished the match with seven men.
One of those ejections went to team captain Clint Dempsey, who was so furious after referee Daniel Radford issued a red card to teammate Michael Ariza, he appeared to knock the referee’s notebook out of his hand and rip it up.
Also Oba got a groin pull. This was not a fun match, and it was terribly ref'd. Evans' was given a second yellow because of some choice soccer acting (step on a guy's foot, suddenly his knee gets blown out), and Azira's elbow was incidental contact.
How was that not penalty?
Holy shit that's atrocious lol.

Clint Dempsey suspended 3 games for ripping up a ref's book
Any of those games the gold cup?
Brazil captain Neymar will miss the remainder of the Copa America after CONMEBOL increased his suspension to four matches on Friday.
