And they had doubts before Jared Leto took it on too. Look where we are now.
No.
No I do remember seeing behind-the-scenes stuff where the director was telling Leto "Jared, I need you to be just terrible here. If you were doing anything good before, stop it. What will really sell the Joker is if he just turns the audience off completely and makes people wish they were watching a different movie."
I know you're being sarcastic but you're also basically saying he had full creative control including the outfit and even the lines he was given, which is just ridiculous. He wasn't perfect in the role but so much more of it screamed "bad design decisions" than bad performance.
But then hey, if people are that split on that, then he's just a bad example, not the main point of what I was saying about newer actors being capable at times of superceding expectations vs previous "iconic" actors in a role.
People are pretty lol if they want to solely blame Leto for that instance of Joker. It was the direction that was given for him to take. He did the character they wanted him to be, which was a shit Joker for the most part
Or the stupid way they cut parts of scenes to make it look like a love side story.... uggg fucking terrible
Talking about DC villian in Avengers 3 thread. Good times.
Possible spoiler discussion about a character death:
Spoiler: show
I legit won't watch it if that's true.
Dude needs smarter people in his camp of that's what he's thinking. I understand people have to do what they love but that's just wrong.

lol
Not everyone does everything for money. He's probably all set.
I liked him in Blade Runner too. At this point I can't fathom WWE being able to afford him with the recognition he has, but maybe I'm wrong.

He likes doing it. During his last run he worked a full schedule too, house shows and all, because he legitimately enjoys wrestling.
