Either they're rewriting that ending (unlikely) or it is a misdirect. I imagine it's something along the lines of the digimon no longer fight/can't digivolve anymore, but choose to remain with them because of their relationships.

It better be the latter!! Or I'm going to turn into a 9 year old and ball my eyes out. >.>

I never liked the ending in season two, felt really weird that everyone had Digimon and that Sora ended up with Matt lol. I'll have to look around and watch these somewhere though.

The new anime will take place in 2020 and will feature an all-new story centering on Taichi Yagami when he is in his fifth year in elementary school. His partner is Agumon. The story begins in Tokyo when a large-scale network malfunction occurs. Taichi is preparing for his weekend summer camping trip when the incident happens. Taichi's mother and his younger sister Hikari get stuck on a train that won't stop moving, and Taichi heads to Shibuya in order to help them. However, on his way there, he encounters a strange phenomenon and sweeps him up into the Digital World along with the other DigiDestined.

Watched the first episode of the new series. It seems fine.. but the animation quality just feels off. It generally seems worse than the original, and I feel the quality seems to fluctuate from scene to scene.

Also, If the OP is anything to go off, the show is going to be 90% Tai and Agumon.

It's really weird to see Omegamon when we're three (two) episodes in.

I'm not really feeling the hype so far. This weeks episode was like a neutered version of the movie (which was fantastic of course, even way back when). All the posters on reddit are hyped as fuck about it, saying amazing animation and blah blah, but eh, I'm just not seeing what they're seeing. It was good but it didn't look like overly amazing Sakuga or anything like that. But by all means, correct me if I'm wrong.

It's a weird direction so far.

Looks like only 6 kids got sent to the digital world vs 7 in the original (no TK or Kairi). They did hint Joe and we got to see a bit of Sora too but unless I missed her, didn't show Mimi at all.

I'll keep watching just because Digimon, but I'm not seeing the hype so far.

I don't see how anyone can think the animation looks amazing. At best, it's okay. At worst, it's worse than a twenty year old series.
