    Any easy pointers in helping to get started on front squats, or if I should even do them at all?
    I took marital arts for 11 years, I'm still somewhat flexible, I stretch a few days a week still.
    I've been working out for a few years now, got started about last year really trying to lift heavier. I can back squat 275x5 and deadlift the same.
    I'm 6ft, 185lbs if it helps give an idea of my frame for this.
    I have a very odd lower back, I have to stretch it out real well otherwise it will ache for days, I don't know what it is but it doesn't affect me otherwise.
    I've watched videos, and have tried to start doing front squats, with just the bar, and with 10s to try to get used to the motion, etc but it puts a weird stress/pull down my back and I'm not sure if that's just part of my own issues, or something else.
    Any of you have any extra tips for getting started with these, certain stretches or positions I should try and work on before getting under a bar first?

    What would you guys think if I added a way for BG fit people to track / log their workout on BG and stuff?

    Could have leaderboards, competitions, see who's slacking, etc...

    It would work but wouldn't be very active since maybe 20-25 people actually workout and actively workout here.

    I would be up for it. Fitocracy is something like that already. The hardest part is with leaderboards, and the plethora of different exercises people can do, it's hard to fairly "score" workouts.

    That might be useful. I tried fitocracy but I got tired of it fast. Since I come to bg anyway I might actually use it.

    Any recommendation on stretches? I got a similar problem. If I don't stretch enough befor DL, my lower back gets extremly tight and starts to hurt. Feels like muscle soreness I usualy get 24hrs after a heavy legs day, but this is immediately. Doesn't depend on how much weight I put on. Was once in a hurry, didn't stretch and had to stop during my warm-up reps because the tension got so bad.

    Sometimes it is not the stretching, it is how you do deadlift, what is your form, and is it you try to it max everytime?

    Doing in front of two side mirror, video recording, and other would help you investigate better

    I mentioned DL because it's the most taxing, but I can force the same pain with high rep lying leg raises. Got my form supervised last year when I was going for 1RMs, no complaints there. Currently enjoying 5/3/1, so no maxes. 6 weeks in now. It might just be that I'm not used to do DLs every week instead of alternating with Cleans, like I did before.

    Again, everything's fine as long as I stretch my back throughout before starting.

    You should probably go to a Sports Medicine doctor.Do you have tight hip flexors as well? You probably need to work on your abs specifically, planks, etc (nothing that causes you to bend at the waist/hips.) Could be APT

    Been feeling lethargic the past 3+ weeks and I unnoticeably cut almost all fat from my diet. Didn't realize it till my best workout came today after eating fast food last night. Then I actually paid attention to what I've been eating and yea, almost non existent fat.

    So I'm trying to get more protein from eggs, and 1 chicken breast rather than the 2 chicken breasts I was eating per day. That said, this is tough. 2 tablespoons of oil already shit on 240 of my cals, 4 eggs is nothing volume wise and that's already taking up 600 of my calories.
