14.5k posts... yeah, guess the old thread might've been a bit on the bigger side.
Cheers to the new thread. I shall celebrate by doing some intervals today (was planning to take today off).
I shall christen this thread by going to the gym today and also do intervals
i shall honor the old fat thread by sitting on my ass and eating string cheese.
Hit the gym today. Headed to Fossil for my obstacle course, then biking to Seminole (10 miles each way) to run the obstacle course at my friend's park (I'm training her)
"Training her"
I didn't know meat flaps were muscles you could exercise. Where did you get the degree for this, CS?
I've been a terrible on again-off again fitness type. Go solid for a couple months and then just get distracted/make terrible excuses for a month or two before trying to get back into it. I'm currently in a "just getting back into it" phase which I want to keep more permanent so posting in this thread and having a place to chat about fitness will hopefully help! (I have my brother to talk to about it as well, he's been working out for like 8+ years now. But he lives in a different province and I can't always just call him up for a motivational kick in the pants)
You gotta start slow, develop a liking for it. If you go balls to the wall bananas chances are you're going to hate it; it'll become a hassle, you don't want that. Let it be part of your life.
Anyway, I started @ 5'7 and 97 lbs. current stats: 5'7 and 149.8 lbs.
I've finally broke 2 plates on my back squat and 1 plate on my bench press for my working weight, and now I'm moving and probably going to miss 2-3 weeks While I would never really say that my upper body has ever been strong, I've always done well in fitness classes with pushups and pullups, but for some reasons my bench press has always been embarrassingly low. So, I'm quite happy to finally see some progress there, but I am so paranoid that it is going to melt away during my forced break, and I'm not confident in pushups/pullups alone being able to maintain what I've worked up to. Uggh
edit: Oh! It has been a full year since I started losing weight/strength training. 5'6" 155lbs starting out. Was down as low as 128lbs when I felt I was low enough to do a clean'ish bulk, and up to around 140 now. No real definition in my arms, but they are getting bigger. My legs have always been strong from years of soccer/hockey/biking, but I have really noticed definition appearing in my quads. No core definition, but I am not expecting it until I do a real cut, which I don't plan on until after Christmas. Overall, I am happy with my progress, and feel good about where I'll be a year from now
I had another way round. Although training schedule still consistent with occasion extra work coming out that force mt to take a day off from workout. But the mental strength has been lowered significantly. For example now, I am unable to push my self for last 2 rep of over head press
Let myself get overweight over the past year from being lazy and nerdy.
Moving cross-country tomorrow to an apartment complex that has a gym onsite. Hoping to inspire myself to get back in shape. Hurray for new thread.
Sath nigga be stronk! you can do it!
Broke my spine, unsure what to do so i keep lifting.
