PS4 Battle System

Players will be able to choose missions to challenge special battles called “Controlled Fights”. These fights can be found after the main story has been advanced and hidden bases are found containing beasts.

In these areas, players will need to suppress the enemies be weakening their nests. These nests will spawn enemies over time and need to be taken out to decrease the amount of beasts in the area. Using the “Bonfire” technique is recommended for taking out these nests.

After destroying all the nests or after a certain amount of time has passed, a boss will appear. The player will win the controlled fight after the boss is defeated.

With this being the first Ys game for me to play I enjoyed the demo a lot but at the same time I was sucking major ass as well on just normal difficulty, but part of that I feel is due to not fully knowing how the mechanics work and the button layout. I thought about changing the button layout in game but figured I'd save it for the full release so I just stuck with default. One of the main things i noticed is that the timing for flash dodge seems to greatly vary over flash guard. Hopefully I'll be able to get a better understanding of the games mechanics in the full release >_>

I do plan to try and play on hard at least from the start to hopefully git gud then work up to nightmare once I get more familiar with the game and whatnot, doubt I'll touch Inferno lol
