Groups B and D seem the most interesting to me. Will SHRC play like they did at Chinese Regionals? Or will the SHRC from LPL Playoffs show up? How good is TPA? How will TSM match up against international competition? Is Najin Shield really this good, or did they have the best week of their lives in the regional tournament? Can C9 compete with ALL and NJS when, on paper, they should get blown up in the laning phase? Will Kabum last to the 25 minute mark in any game?

Group A is obviously the easiest to call. Group C is the "group of death" but I honestly don't think it will be that close, with SGB and OMG cruising through. Then, assuming both Samsung teams win their group, they'll be set up for a team kill in the semi-finals. That could be a fantastic match.

I initially thought Group B would be easy for TSM, but SHRC are decent and could take 1 or 2 games off them, leaving them fighting for second, and there isn't a lot of footage of TPA who while probably not a great team are at least decent, and SK are not a trash team, while they will be outskilled by TSM they will come with a solid plan.

Group A is "who can beat the scrubs fastest for the lols", and winner decided by the white vs edg series which should give us a better read on how EDG stack up given they're the strongest in china by a long way.

    Predictions:

    Group A: White+ EDG

    Group B: TSM + SHRC

    Group C: Blue + FNC

    Group D: Najin + Alliance

Genuinely curious, why FNC over OMG? I think it's an interesting comparison. OMG has one of the top 3 top laners in the world, and arguably a top 3 mid as well. FNC has a gigantic advantage in the bottom lane over OMG. Individuals aside, OMG's team fighting is superior to FNC, imo. They are also way more aggressive. I don't think OMG can beat Blue, but I think they won't have much trouble with LMQ and should also beat FNC due to building early leads in top and mid, and then pressing those advantages too hard for Rekkles with hard carry against. I haven't considered the jungle match up that much because I don't think Cyanide is that good. What do you think FNC has that will propel them over OMG in that group?

EDIT: I should also throw in that I'm not a big OMG fan. I actually said something at the start of the LPL season along the lines of people that don't follow LPL highly overrating them. I don't think OMG will go deep in the tournament. Just, they'll get out of groups because they got an easy group.

OMG didn't exactly look great vs the other weaker chinese teams and I think skill for skill FNC match up pretty well, if OMG get aggressive early they could end up trading badly with fnc, I don't think its in their nature to wait for mid/lategame and wait to outplay them in teamfights.

Plus I don't think FNC are that weak, and they can run the double tele cheese

imo out of the 4 big regions (EU/NA/KR/CN) OMG is the weakest by far, but that's just me and i'll admit i only watched LPL during the last month or so. but it is league anyhting can happen

I wish the finals weren't in Korea again... Fucking hate having to stay up until 3-4AM. Wish they would bring them back to the US or at least alternate their fkn location.

They sold out really fast. My plan is to just go to Bexco in Busan before some matches and try to scalp tickets, but I'm not sure how successful that will be.

Updated OP because they changed the schedule slightly. Each groups pair (A+B / C+D) play during all four scheduled days of the week.

Viq, are you familiar with any sort of korean based websites like E-bay or craigslist that might have tickets for sale? I'mma do some research, but thought maybe you might be familiar before trying to decipher stuff..

You can try checking sites like gmarket (http://gmarket.co.kr/) to see if tickets pop up there.

Another option is going to Naver and searching for 롤드컵 티겟 판매. That comes up with a handful of results of individuals selling some tickets, though it may be tougher to strike a deal having to contact someone directly via Kakaotalk.

Edit: In other news, Svenskeren banned for the first 3 WC games (and fined $2,500). Gilius from UOL will play instead. GG TSM, GG.

EDIT: That was a really fun match to open worlds. Couldn't have asked for much more.

Yeah great game, timed nicely for my lunch break. EDG is a very scary team, to win a team fight beeing 10k behind. Imagine how strong they can be if ClearLove and U actually perform. Namei with the highest damage output even with all those deaths. SSW only won through superior rotations (and early imp + Mata), but they did that beautifully throughout the entire game, as Phreak pointed out.

TSM vs SK was a lot more one-sided than expected, but what the hell were SK thinking giving TSM that dream team.

TPA needs to learn how to close out a game, and both TPA and SHRC need to pick better comps. TSM should be considered a lock to get out of that group now, possibly as the top seed.
