Gotta get that purple ninja suit after all.
I'd be down once my NIN gets to 50, pretty sure we're both Hyperion yeah? Need to start saving up Soldiery/Poetic to gear my gimp ass up. I only have a few i90 hand-me-downs from my MNK from the end of 2.1. I also have PLD with some mostly i90 too if you need a tank bitch.
Yep I'm still kicking on Hyperion. I plan to get back into things full circle once the weekly reset happens.

Just got NIN to 50 last night finally so ready to start the fun grind instead of the tedious one.
For anyone who still needs to finish the 40-50 long haul I suggest staying in Coerthas until 45~ and then moving to Mor Dhona and alternating leves + FATEs. North Thanalan gives more exp but the FATEs are a lot less frequent than Coerthas which pretty much has at least one FATE up at all times. I switched to Mor Dhona at 45 for the level 45 leves which give the exact same exp as a normal FATE and are done within 5 min most of the time. The only leve that takes any amount of time is the escort quest (One of our Naturalist's is Missing) but you can accept the other 3 and when you turn them in it'll cycle that one out 9/10 times. It'll also contribute to the levequest challenge log entires which are 15% level exp for each. Doing that I was able to get from fresh 47 to 50 in about 3 hours.
I went to Northern Thanalan at 43 I think. Significantly faster than Corethas IMO.
Only issue I have with Thanalan is the Dark Devices FATE (Think that's the name with the lunatics) is that I couldn't get get crap for EXP since the bosses/etc. dropped so fast. I only got about 1K each FATE from that chain.
Is there a way to add a tool tip to a macro?
Hopefully my last question. Is there any way to modify my hot bar to add dividers, etc? For example, the default layout is:
1234567890-=
Is there any way to space them out so it looks more like:
123 456 789 0-=
Or:
123
456
789
0-=
Not currently.
There's an option buried in the hotbar settings somewhere to "not show" the outline for unassigned squares/grids. This allows you to create the illusion of dividers.
edit: this also means you have to go and manually set a lot of keybinds
Bleh, I was afraid of that. I noticed some were grouped like my bottom, but as hoping that was just a way to resize the toolbar and have it wrap around and create a few rows.
Haven't paid attention to game in a couple months.
Did Nin get added? If so, does it have any useful sub-skills for other jobs?
And Heavensward is the 2015 expansion?
No other jobs can set the Rogue skills, but classes (and presumably some future jobs) can set Perfect Dodge (dodges the next physical attack, 2 min cooldown), Goad (single target TP regen buff for an ally, can't use on yourself, 3 min cooldown) and Death Blossom (120 TP 360 AoE around you, only 60 potency untraited but could be okay for low level classes at least). Yes Heavensward is the expansion due out next year.
Is there any benefit to choosing one Grand Company over another?
Not really.
Choose based on which leader/aesthetic/city/proximity to Aetheryte you like best.
Different gearsets available with seals whilst leveling (almost entirely irrelevant, they give nice weapons for all classes regardless of GC, but as soon as you hit 50 all the GC gear is worthless so no biggie). At 50 frontlines PvP is a battle between the three GCs (24v24v24), I haven't touched Frontlines in forever so I can't speak for team balance, back at launch it was typically Limsa or Ul'dah dumpstering the poor Gridanians. The other thing it influences is what you can purchase with Allied Seals, which you get for hunting specific NMs in the world (there's daily and weekly targets that are easily soloed and give seals, as well as higher tier ones that just give a chunk of Allied Seals for killing them whenever they pop). You can see what you can purchase with seals here, it's essentially just vanity gear you can use to look cool, since you will very quickly get gear with better stats at 50. Some of the sets do look real nice though so imo this is probably the biggest influence on choice, I swapped from Grid to Limsa when these came out because damn those sets look sweet.
Okay another dumb one, but any advice on DPSing? I seem to get way too ""jumpy" and seem to make a bunch of mistakes and other crap.
