On the Red Sox front - seems they're prepared to offer Jon Lester a 6 year contract... Not sure 6/120 gets it done, might take 6/132... Some team might offer more, but it has stated his preference is to return to Boston, so I guess we'll see.

Red Sox are "all in" on Pablo Sandoval, which I'm not especially thrilled over. I like him as a player, but I'm really concerned about his SLG dipping over each of the last four seasons. His overall numbers were unimpressive last season. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to have him on the Red Sox, but not for 6/110 or whatever people seem to think he'll get. Personally, I'd offer Chase Headley the Napoli/Victorino contract (3/39) or 4/52, or something in that range and see if he bites. The Red Sox have some really good SS/3B prospects (Chavis/Devers), but they're about 3-4 years away.

Even if the Red Sox bring back Lester, they'd still need to bring in another starting pitcher, as the rotation would be something like Lester/Buchholz/Kelly/DeLaRosa/Webster. They'll probably try to add another starting pitcher via trade. They've got a lot of outfielders and young arms as trade fodder. Cueto and Sharknado are names that have been speculated on. Hamels too, but lolAmaro.

Outfield is currently very crowded with Victorino, Betts, Cespedes, Castillo, Craig, Nava and Bradley Jr. Victorino and Craig probably don't have a ton of trade value due to their contracts and injuries, Castillo just signed a seven year contract and they're not trading Betts unless they get back a guy like Trout or Stanton (which they aren't). As such, it seems pretty likely they move Cespedes. Betts and Castillo figure to be exciting players, but the third outfield spot is more of a lottery ticket sans-Cespedes. Victorino is an imenesely valuable player if healthy, but he's 34 and only played 30 games in 2014... in 2013 he was a 6 win player. Allen Craig sucked complete ass in 2014, but was one of the better hitters in the game from 2011-2013, has a nagging foot injury which might be why he sucked so much last season. Daniel Nava, at best can be pretty good, and at worst be not too bad, but he figures to be a bench player. And there's pretty much non way Bradley Jr. cracks the opening day roster.

And in addition to Betts, there's pretty much zero chance the Red Sox trade Xander Bogaerts or Blake Swihart.

You guys can have Scherzer, Shields and/or Zimmerman. Lester belongs in Boston.

Even with the logjam in the outfield, I don't think Cespedes is going to be moved for nothing. If Cuddyer is worth 2/21 and a first round pick, I'd have to say Cespedes at 1/10.5 has considerable value. Cespedes + some pitching prospects for Cueto or Shark has been suggested.
