This game frustrates me so much. Feels as if 90% of the player base has better aim and strategy than me. Need to git gud and/or stop caring...

Play Soldier 76 and aim hax with his ultimate. Who needs to aim when you're given an aimbot.
I've played my fair share of 'im, if only there was 100% uptime
I feel the skill ceiling and floor is not that big compared to TF2, at least for now.
There are a lot of nice guides for characters online and "do's and don'ts" to check out, will help a lot. I even learned a few things.
So do any of the characters have a Shotgun like weapon?
Roadhog but that's super close quarter shotgun blast like a flak cannon in Unreal.
I guess Reaper since his guns excel in close quarters with a relatively fast reload time.
Good McCrees can take out a Reinheart at nearly full life with shield up by going Flashbang over his shield to stun > Butterfly fan > dash for reload > Butterfly fan if you hit him the face with a lot of the shots.
Reaper would be the closest. He has a lot of movement and self healing from collecting souls of opposing team members who have died. Sucks complete ass at medium/long range but if you can sneak behind someone you can pretty much kill anyone, and his ult is a great crowd clearer.
If you are looking for more fps, turn off dynamic reflections in the graphics settings. My 6700/GTX970 @ 1440p went from 65 to 100 with everything else on max and it looks basically the same. For some reason, that option costs an absurd amount of frames.
Same thing as Diablo III, the reflection settings in that thing cost 40+ FPS for me with no noticeable difference in fidelity. nfc what's up with that setting in Blizzard games but it's pretty bad
Blizzard games have come a long way in the unoptimized department for making things flashy.
Any advice when fighting Bastion? That chaingun mode is a bitch.
Long range snipe him with Hanzo or Widowmaker. Mid range Winston can jump on him and Roadhog and hook him, Junkrat can lob 2-3 direct hits before he can up and move plus can hit him around corners and low walls. Additionally Genji can relect his dmg back at him and tracer can dash in and sticky bomb him. Bastion gets less scary as your map awareness goes up and if people are willing to switch to counter him. Too many teams won't switch and just keep running headlong into him.
So as Solider 76/Reaper I have slim options. Dang
Zenyatta can also snipe him and to a lesser extent Lucio. Basically play team-up and pelt him behind a Reinheart or Shielded D.Va. At the very least, you can displace him and get some space.
Finally got a POTG with Mercy last night. such a good feeling. Popped Rez while coming around the escort platform on D, switched to my pea shooter and just started to fire wildly into a group of attackers trying to go slowly around the corner for cover. Since my team was also shooting them I got a few eliminations. Felt good.
Really love this game
Right, Soldier's right click helix attack does a pretty damn good amount of damage. I think Bastion takes 2x damage as of last patch when you attach him from behind, if you can manage that. Reaper wouldn't be a terrible option as you use his shift (ghost walk thing) to moon walk out of there if shit goes south. My absolute favorite lately has to be the Genji reflect though. So funny.
