I mean, the damage can't be that high in general. She doesn't need to reload and she's a tank so there's got to be a limit.
Tyven has -100 armor, though.

I'll be on shortly after 5est today if anyone wants to lose some matches via blowout or also via heartbreak but also sometimes win and wow those wins feel great. Okay let me know
Her biggest issue is the damage drop off and the spread. Here's her damage stats:
Those aren't bad stats on paper, but when at point blank range you likely won't be hitting with all 8 pellets, it quickly becomes much less. Never mind the damage drop off past like 5 feet, both from the crazy spread and the quickly diminishing damage. That fact her mobility goes to shit just adds salt to the wound, it's pretty easy to just hug her and move around her to get out of her damage cone.Originally Posted by Overwatch Guide
Mercy has clicked as my "main" in the past couple days. Putting weapon swap to a more comfortable spot on controller (I use L2) makes her so much better. I don't think half the playerbase really expects Mercy to fight back so I have survived a lot of shit I really shouldn't have on account of shooting dumb people in the face.
In fact I've found Mercy makes a decent Torb turret killer if, for whatever reason, nobody is around to hit you and Torb neglects to heal his turret.
However my winrate with her is garbage because dumb teammates won't stop rushing in and not running away while spamming I need healing. And/or I play against really on-point Tracer/Reaper who always come to the backlines to kill me FIRST. Which I can respect.
Double Mercy also seems to work pretty well too in my limited experience. In fact I only really have a bad time with Mercy if my team is full of un-ideal Mercy targets (Widow, Tracer, Hanzos who can't hit for shit, Torb). One of my best was a kickass Genji who I followed with damage boost to a near-teamkill dragonblade.
I love Mercy, but it gets really frustrating as you play better and better players. You get targeted so hard. Last night I played in a 6 man group with some good players and we went against some comparable teams. One group had incredible Tracer and Pharah players who keyed on me immediately as soon as I was even in view, to the point the Pharah player would suicide dive into small back rooms to kill me. There is nothing you can do as Mercy to survive that without your team changing comp to counter. But too many people love XYZ DPS (e.g. Reaper) and want their Overwatch Master ranking to go up by continuing to play them.
While those good flankers coming for you sucks, my biggest nightmare as Mercy is Roadhog. I have no situational awareness for him and hook is death. Feels like the only char I can't hear footsteps of.
What times do you guys try to game up Wulf?
Wife gone for the weekend, ready to rock some scrubs
God you guys almost make married life sound worth it. But fuck that, Ima be too wasted to play
EST I assume? That sounds good for me. Gets a few hours in before bed and work at 4:30 (PST). I'll try to get on one of these nights.
Someone shoot me a message on psn and I'll get on tired of solo today
I've escaped a hook or two on Mercy by quickly Shifting to a teammate, but its hit or miss. As far as flankers, i can usually kill a Tracer unless they're fucking A+. Reaper almost always gets me because I can never hear them coming cause situational awareness etc... I've taken out Reinhardts, made a friend that way lol. Basically as Mercy if get flanked, my team is on their own because 9/10 they leave me to die and then all die immediately after, so i just start blasting my flanker (Unless I actually see someone shooting them then I DMG boost the person actually helping me)
Mercy really sucks to play with certain team mates :\, but when I'm escorting a Mercy I like to think I give them a break and actually pay attention to their HP bar.
Can you fly while you're being hooked or do you have to hope the Roadhog is bad and doesn't headshot you on pull-in first? And I have the exact same problem with Reaper. I know I can take him out but he always hits me twice first so it's moot.
One of my favorite gank squads against me was a Reinhardt-Winston combo. Rein would charge just to make me run a certain way and then Winston would jump behind that so I couldn't outrange him (because nobody else on my team was around to fly to; near spawn on attack).
Actually now that I think of it they DO see Mercy's HP bar as the beam target so I wonder why 90% of them never turn around and see what's killing her. I tend to forget this because I'm never a Mercy target.
If you get hooked you're pretty much stunned until you're pulled to him. It pretty much comes down to who is faster: The Roadhog getting the shot in or you using an ability to avoid direct damage. Pretty much is a mash fest.
I can GA well, we're talking about top players on PS4 who are just absurd. Every time Tragickstorm joins our party I swear the MM immediately goes to MLG level with 70%+ accuracy Pharahs (50%+ is insane on PS4) and godTracers. I'm a decent Mercy, but I can't compete with this shit.
