The new bundles are such a screw, and the gravity rod requirements are a bit too steep. Part of me wonders if it'll have a cool hidden effect like the superior blade did,but I really don't want to to farm to find out.

Yeah, mat cost is pretty fucked for the rod. This event doesn't have enough worth to spam it that much IMO. 9 more magic is great and all, but realistically there's going to be better soon enough with TM and trial rewards that completely destroy it.

I could kind of understand the material cost if it was like a relic weapon, like you won't find anything better for a LONG time(if ever). Than you could chip away at it and work towards it. But just for a "next step up" weapon? I don't think I'll be wasting time on this either. Pretty sad, because I was actually excited to see a new tier of mage weapon. :/

I think the announcement said it gives you access to Gravity?

And the best part is that the ADV boss seems like one of the hardest bosses right now. Maybe not quite on par with the INT S5 boss, but it definitely took more effort than it should have for such a shitty reward. Now to kill him 78 more times..... or not.

Anybody know if Locke's lvl 80 skill helps with demon hearts?

I don't think the boss is hard so much as the ADV mobs seem to have an unusually high amount of defense. One of the reasons I'm not really bothering with it, too. Can just auto through EXP and level my Art/Locke/Rose.

I would presume Locke increases the Demon Hearts, but I only have like one person on both my friends list that even has max Locke to test it. People on Reddit said the Demon Heart isn't even 100% lol. The rod isn't bad and would be useful for quite some time, but not worth the amount of energy. I was contemplating grinding it out on my soft-launch account because I'm already back to farming rank, but I don't even have a mage worth giving it to currently.

I'm probably not going to mess with the Gravity Rod after seeing the materials required at this stage of the game. For now I'll probably just finish Golbez to 80 to replace Sarah and most likely start grinding Ramuh up after that.

I think the general consensus is that the gravity rod is not worth it. I was a little surprised at the material costs; I thought I was playing Grindblue again for a second there.
