Dissidia 013, now with more Lafalell
There is only one appropriate FFXIV character for a Dissidia follow-up.
Spoiler: show
I'd actually be up for a new Square fighting game. Particularly with network functionality, and without the garbage load time.
Whether we like it or not, gotta admit that Y'stola is probably a shoe-in should there ever be another Dissidia.
That said; I hope they make some major changes or just leave Dissidia dead.
Both games are so hilariously imba that they aren't fun to play for any length of time. I remember playing as Shantotto in the first game and you don't know despair until you face someone who isn't an idiot that is playing Kuja while you're on Shantotto. Gonna go ahead and call that a 0-10 MU.
So is this confirmed to be the saga series renewal or is there another mystery game to be announced and all of our hopes and dreams get crushed by SE once again.
So then is this or isn't this another Ridge Racer reveal?
They could further troll us by announcing, which will technically be a new series and will sit right at home on the console!
Spoiler: show
Sorry I'm doing a piece of shitty task here and I needed to vent my frustrations somewhere with some quick thinking typing
But hey at this point anything can happen!
looooool. that made me laugh at the very improbability of SE every attempting something like that.
We probably won't know if the SaGa title is separate from this until Jump Festa. I would think SE knows SaGa isn't a "huge" title nor is the Vita a home console...but who knows.
Could this be that game? http://kotaku.com/square-enix-new-ga...ent-1619365355
ANNNND THEN there is this.... http://kotaku.com/the-latest-final-f...nal-1672158436 side boob... of a guy. with one notable feature
with features like map exploration"
"moving across the map will be automated"
Why are the idiots are square enix so fucking... idiotic! they really do hate money.
Prepare to be disappointed
Its not that."Titled Mevius Final Fantasy, the game is being developed in-house and is slated for release on iOS and Android in Spring, 2015.
Life Is Strange, according to Polygon, sounds like an episodic title and SE is only acting as publisher. It looks cool though and I'm tempted.
Mevius FF looks literally to be Lightning Returns: Bishounen Edition. It is mentioned by the president, which is how this whole thread started. On portable though, so I still don't know if that counts.
I am not excited about any of this news.
If you hadn't noticed a lot of companies are movin more towards 'automation' and 'quick travel' because gamers are too impatient for travel times these days. Even Nintendo will with the new Zelda (large areas but Epona is apparently automated.)
SE hates money because they're too busy banking on FFXIV ARR to care.
Epona is automated? I hadn't been following the game at all but that somehow still feels like a swift kick in the sack. What in the world?
I don't know about automated in the normal sense of the word (though I wouldn't be surprised to see full automation). All they said in that preview is "Look, Epona isn't fucking retarded. Horses don't run into trees. You don't have to actively dodge trees when you ride through the forest."
All I remember them saying was that Epona wouldn't crash into trees and would just automatically move out of the way of them. Still looked like you had control over Epona though.
edit: I was too slow.
Let's not pretend quick travel options are new to RPGs. Dragon Warrior/Quest did it. Suikoden had the Blinking Mirror. Even Zelda did it with the recorder/whirlwind. Etc, etc, etc. So, while true more recent games may have added more quick points beyond towns or dungeons (Lookin' at you, Xenoblade~), it's not like the removed time sink adds much to the game since you can bet people would just be avoiding encounters and what not to get to their true destinations.
