Wasn't Mara Jade just a code name for a part?

I thought VIII was the best Star Wars movie I've ever seen and I've seen all of them except Revenge of the Sith at least once.
I don't know who these book characters are (though I'd be willing to watch Rebels, I watched a few episodes of Clone Wars and that was actually really good) and if I see them pop up for the first time in a movie I'd have no reason to be happy or upset, I'd base my experience completely upon who they were in the movie.
I'm a huge fan of 8 besides the shitty humor in the beginning...
My favorite part of 8 was how rebel pilot guy and pink haired commander killed more rebels than the empire.
Poe got a bunch of people killed in the first one too by trying to hide out in that village when he knew they were on his tail. Resolving his general thoughtlessness for consequences vis a vis the deaths of everyone affected by it seemed like a strong choice to me.
Listen, can we just all agree that the Empire is great, the First Order are pretender nerds, and the Rebel scum deserve to die?
He's definitely back in canon now (was brought into Rebels) though so it "works".
But now we've got a canon cartoon giving him a voice, let's hope that voice actor looks the part for live-action? Or they go and dub him like Vader, lol, except that probably wouldn't work without a mask.
As much as people may have hated Last Jedi, it could have been worse. So much worse.
[The next three ‘Star Wars’ films] were going to get into a microbiotic world. But there’s this world of creatures that operate differently than we do. I call them the Whills. And the Whills are the ones who actually control the universe. They feed off the Force.
Reminds me of some of the playful speculation that Death Stranding was Kojima telling the stories of the actual nanomachines in MGS lmao.

Maybe she'll crash a starship for Poe.
With Luke gone and likely not appearing as a force ghost, I really can't find a reason for me to watch this (in theaters). These films have been interesting to say the least but they haven't gotten me to invest in the new characters much- if at all in some cases. Bringing in more new faces will hardly gainsay my opinion in the final EP.
Why wouldn't Luke be a force ghost?
Well, I could very well be wrong. However in an article I read regarding his refusal for a role in GotG3, it lead me to believe he doesn't like being in front of the camera anymore- too much anxiety for him.
Maybe he's been confirmed for EP9 already, I dunno, but I just got the vibe he'd rather not return to live action movies...."That's why I like Solo and Rogue One so much. There was 100% less Hamill, so I didn't have any sort of anxiety. I could just be in the audience, it was great."
Ehh. They're probably not going to announce him even if he's in it.
I mean, I would love for him to come back as a force ghost- don't get me wrong. That alone would secure a ticket from me.
Yeah and he most likely will. I think you're overthinking his comments.
