GF and I saw it last night (after the holiday hype died down), theatre was mostly empty.

We both enjoyed it; I felt like it tried too hard to imitate the cheeky/sassy humor from EP4 while trying to make it a semi-serious war movie.

I loved Donnie Yen in this, especially his bag joke. As mentioned earlier in the thread, what's the point of storm trooper armor if you can get knocked out from a stick.

Didn't realize Alan Tudyk was K2SO; hats off to him.

I do kind of laugh thinking about how Bail Organa went from Jimmy Smits to Slightly Older Jimmy Smits while Obi-Wan Kenobi went from Ewan McGregor to Alec Guiness in the same time frame.

As mentioned earlier in the thread, what's the point of storm trooper armor if you can get knocked out from a stick.

I know people be bitching to bitch, but didn't every storm trooper either get knocked out or shot by another trooper in that exchange? Afaik helmet usage doesn't prevent one from concussion or knock outs, especially when I AM ONE WITH THE FORCE AND THE FORCE IS WITH ME.

Stormtroopers (mostly) aren't clones. They're mainly recruited/enlisted/conscripted regular humans, and by the Battle of Scarif the remaining clones are pushing retirement age.

They were created to age quickly which is how by the time ten years was up the Republic had an army of fully grown clones instead of 10 year old clones. Boba Fett was the exception as Jango wanted a completely unmodified clone as part of his payment.

The clones were ordered to be created shortly before Phantom Menace. Ten years later was Attack of the Clones with the full grown clone army. They were probably the regular equivalent of a 30 year old at that point.

Most of the clones would have been mustered out/too old by the time of Rogue One, yes. The comics and books go in to greater detail but basically Palpatine began to distrust the clones when Kamino tried to rebel against the Empire and he destroyed all the cloning facilities, so most of the loyal clones in the military could now no longer return for Kamino for treatments and began to either age rapidly or go insane.
