Looks like Miller and Lord were trying to make it more like a campy Star Wars "Ace Ventura" than the more serious and refined direction the writer wanted.

Honestly, it sounds like Disney nabbed 2 hot directors for the sake of nabbing 2 hot directors and it finally reached a breaking point in fitting square pegs into round holes.

Rewrites confirmed, putting the whole "reshoot" thing to bed once and for all

Bettany done with movie. Film is awaiting Vaderification now.

Lastly Darth Vader has been confirmed to be in the movie.

But Han never ran into Vader before the star destroyer escape, did he?

I can see him dealing with Lando pre ESB, but Han would have had no reason to.

Jabba and Boba Fett though, maybe.

If they are gonna have Vader they need to send the check to James Earl Jones and get him in the recording studio ASAP. This is just me being overly worried.

Pretty quick revamp. 4 months from a director change to production wrapping up? I wonder how much they actually had to reshoot.

God that sounds like a mess for the script. Hopefully when they say "new character altogether" they mean he's got all the same lines/roles in the story, and they're just making him a human to save on FX time.
