They had a perfect track record on this exact type of mission up until today. This is supposed to be a reusable rocket though, and it just blew up to bits. =(

Damnit.
Ladies, Welcome back to the SpaceX Hype Train.

On Sunday evening at around 8 pm ET, a 229.6-foot Falcon 9 rocket will lift off out of Cape Canaveral Air Force Station in Florida.
About 10 minutes after lift off, part of the rocket, called the first stage or booster, will separate from the spacecraft, and that's when the really exciting stuff happens.
So fucking HYPED!
Grid fins never cease to amaze me. like... what the fuck. totally counter-intuitive. but i guess at those speeds air reacts more like you'd expect water to react, so they kinda make sense. but only kinda.
Forgot to add they're doing a Dry Land landing attempt, if you don't read the article.
It really feels like the pre-Mercury era of spaceflight- crazy narrow tolerances (even more so, but we're using better tech too), shit blowing up and crashing on a regular basis because that's the only way to really get things right.
Next generation spaceflight, ladies and gentlemen. This is how things get done.
Launch Delayed until tomorrow (Monday) for better landing attempt.
5-minute launch window opens at 8:29 p.m. EST tonight, streaming at spacex.com
Stream is Live:

Launch around 8:30.
15 minutes! (alternate stream: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=O5bTbVbe4e4 )
Yeah, I dunno if they're streaming the landing attempt - they haven't for the previous tries, although that may be because those were on the barge.
I mean, at worst, we'll be waiting until tomorrow morning for grainy gif's. Still man, if that shit lands, I want to see it live. Fuuuuuuck.
5 minutes!
Strongback detachment. FUCKING HYPE IS TOO REAL. This better not disintegrate...
Going to chat, only us two.
Looking good so far...
Beautiful launch, and coasted right through MAX Q, shat some bricks honest. Almost to touch down. Fucking Man, so giddy.
4 minutes from booster landing attempt!
Here comes the first stage! CMOOOOONNNNNN
God I'm sweating lol
