Trailer looks hot. Update thread title to "Out of the Shadows"?
Trailer says Out of the Shadow, behind the scenes says Half Shell. Why not both?
Sure, why not. Half-shell's probably what they were going to go with at first; imdb also saying Out of the Shadows along with the release date, seems that should be pretty final.
Krang confirmedhttp://www.rollingstone.com/movies/f...0160104?page=6They start with Ninja Turtles animation. Pablo Helman, a visual-effects supervisor who worked on the Star Wars prequels, appears onscreen and shows Bay the latest version of Krang, a new-to-the-movies villain who is, essentially, a disembodied brain inside a giant robot. "So we've eliminated the tentacles," Helman explains. "Is it too monster-ish?"
"He could have some tentacles," says Bay. "I just don't want them coming out of the side. He looks like a stupid octopus."
Hopefully they insert him at the end of the film to setup the next one. If they do Krang, Dimension X, and the Technodrome.... Holy shit my inner child is screaming.
Toyline from the new movie
Spoiler: show
Is that from cartoon adaptation or the new movies? They've released new toys based on 1980s movies and those look WAY better.
From the new movies.
Out of the Half-Shell Shadows.
A lot of you need to put the nostalgia glasses down; this isn't a TMNT comic book movie, but neither were the 90s movies, which I loved as a kid. The new trailer looks stupid fun and better than the first one, but the fist one had it's moments too. It's campy fun, replaces puppets and costume actors with CGI, and adds better explosions; what more do you want from a TMNT movie? The scene where Rocksteady takes a pot shot, from a a surfacing tank, says it all.
I have nephews who are about the right age group for these toys (5 and 8) and in all honesty, they're not interested in playing with action figures. I think the era of kids playing with action figures is fizzling out. They're more into digital media than anything else. And if this is any indication of a much wider reception, it wouldn't surprise me if companies are starting to cut down on production quality. On another hand, these could just be REALLY shitty toys on its own. I mean, wouldn't be the first time.
Concur. The biggest hype I see for toys like this are from the adults who used to play with them as kids. Nowadays, anecdotally, I see children more interested in video entertainment on cell phones and the like; or gadgets that assist with that (headphones, controllers, etc).
This movie is looking strangely not like complete ass based on the trailer I saw last night. Only problem is that Michael Bay is still trying to convince us that Meghan Fox is sexy.
Idk, am I the only one who still thinks the turtles look like ass? The CG is just terrible. The rest of this movie, including dialog, looks like fun but cannot those turtles look terrible.
