Examples of the common speedrun categories are
- any% - simply just clearing the game, which is what you'll primarily see at AGDQ2015
- low% - clearing with the lowest completion rating if a game tracks it; typically involves using glitches or clever tricks to skip otherwise mandatory pickups that would bring up the completion score
- 100% runs - doing all the optional content/collectibles
- glitchfests - abusing bugs to break apart or skip large portions of a game, and other devious goods; very common in TAS runs where you remove human error from the equation to do extremely precise or humanly impossible glitches
- Game settings such as single-player/co-op, difficulty levels, etc, get broken down into their own categories as well.
