With the POSSIBILITY of Google Fiber coming to the RTP area, I was wondering if anyone on BG already has it. If so, how is it?

Let me lay it down like this. It's not Comcast, Time Warner, or Verizon. Day 1, every time. Welcome your new Google Fiber Overlords.
More logical approach tho, is to price match what speed you really need to whats being offered in your area for whichever provider you have. As for customer service, perhaps someone else can fill you in.
50MB for 84 is what I have atm <_<;
Research Triangle Park(Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill).
:S first hit on google too.
I'd probably ask than google too <-<;
Google's coming to Raleigh as far as I know.
We don't have anything official yet.
You lucky sons of bitches. My friend has fiber and lives in the of Kansas City and oh my shit, that speed. Talking about downloading 1080p movies in a couple of seconds type shit. And Google is talking about bumping that shit up to 10 gigabits per second soon.
At one point I had wished that Google was coming to MN, we were in the running at one point, but now we've gotten something better, US Internet. Better speeds and a better price structure compared to Comcast and the other local provider. Only minus side is that their service only covers a small part of the city as Comcast is fighting tooth & nail to shut it down.

God want.
Will kill for 1Gbps internet
I got 50Mbps internet for about %50 per month...
I had a recent tech "fix" my internet and currently getting 100Mbps though... kind of funny since my ISP doesn't even offer the speed.

not even business internet gets 100Mbps so... >.>

Fuck, that's so yummy. I get 50/5 ;(
Hoping the plans for Staten Island, NY come through. That'll be the first step in getting FiOS, Time Warner and Cablevision out.
edit:
not really complaining but I tried Google Fiber and I've never been the same after!

That's pretty much the same pricing as Google for the 1Gbps tier.. but are those really accurate prices from Comcast? Jesus, no wonder everybody hates them.
This is what I get from Cablevision.. $39.95 tier plus 4.95 for "boost". And I was always under the impression that they sucked, but I guess it could be a lot worse.

No, that isn't right for comcast, at least not in my area anyways. I got 130 (i see it hit 150+ sometimes, their "Powerboost" or someshit) and 20 up for about 80 a month.

I would kill to get Google Fiber. As I started playing FFXIV I'm starting to hate Fios lol...
Comcast (ISP) pricing is highly regionalized, dependent on the type of competition that services your home, and if you're still in the reduced price portion of a contact.
I paid more than you do and only got 20Mbps with Comcast. They also insulted me and were incapable of fixing any issue with their service. My experiences have given me an extremely negative bias associated with Comcast. There is no way I will willingly give them money to be fucked over. As long as there is an alternative, I will use it.
The problem is, of course, alternatives. There is no 1Gbps service available and not even a whisper of anyone building it. Even after switching to Verizon FiOS, the one alternative, I pay more than anyone in this thread for slower speeds (40Mbps now). Their service has been mostly good, but recently there have been multiple days were I'm lucky to get a consistent 5Mbps down with terrible latency.
1Gbps down would be incredible.
