Are chasers racist and/or transphobic?

I see woke left people all the time on grindr or scruff say shit like "no racial preferences but LOVE and prefer BBC!". I really don't see a problem with chasers or fetishizers. Maybe it's all about message delivery though

I don't think it feels good to be fetishised, generally.

Racial fetishization also has some pretty problematic roots (eg fetishising Asian women because they're viewed as more submissive and traditionally feminine, fetishising blacks because they're viewed as more shall we say carnal).

I'd posit the root of the fetish is more than likely racism, but the expression of preference itself isn't inherently wrong.

The point zealot and AG are making is that the attraction is, at least partially, societally shaped. This can be demonstrated when we look at the evolution of the standards of beauty throughout history. It's not just about societies being more or less prudish throughout history, there were marked differences in ideal skin tones and body types throughout history. If we recognize that, it is a relatively short jump to posit that racism has likely influenced the difference preferences and ideals for different cultures in different times. In other words, characteristics of races of lower classes would be deemed unattractive -- i.e. dark skin.

Now here comes the important step. Knowing this, we should be cognizant and recognize how our own attractions and preferences and biases aren't just random and neutral, even if we are not personally at fault for the formation of these predilections.

The Milkster "woke sparknotes" version though is that you don't like black women it is because of racism, and you need to reject that racism in order to embrace black beauty.

Chasers are bad because they treat us like we only exist for their sexual pleasure and not as an actual human being, which I'm sure no one would prefer to be treated as such.

It bears keeping in mind that there are degrees here. The inability to see a trans person as their identified gender but still respecting their right to live as that gender is different from saying they should be treated as their assigned birth sex and should have no rights afforded to them based on identified gender (must use a certain restroom, etc) because they are an affront to Christianity

Why is it considered bigotry not to pander to somebody with gender dysphoria? A guy who tells a anorexic girl that she's not fat (despite what she believes) and that she should eat a sandwich before she dies isn't a bigot? maybe a bit rude? A guy who tells another guy "you got a sack you a man" is a bigot? Both are just confirming reality.

if you're going to use clinical psychology terms you should probably be aware of modern clinical psychology. transsexualism, or as American psychology calls it gender dysphoria (previously gender identity disorder), is considered a medical condition in the DSM-V AND ICD-10 (respectively the American and international Bibles of mental illness diagnostics) but is a separate condition from body dysmorphic disorder, and itself is no longer considered a disorder.

BDD is primarily an anxiety disorder with mild underpinnings of delusion that causes individuals to obsess over a distorted self-image, one out of whack with any objective appraisal and independent of the actual physical state of the individual. there has been a mild push of late to reclassify anorexia nervosa as a subtype of body dysmorphia and for purposes of illustration it exemplifies the most salient feature of BDD. how skinny the individual is or will become is irrelevant to the discomfort the individual feels as a result of the disorder. you can see the contrast with transgender individuals who generally do not desire to get more male or female than any human being could ever become, but rather simply align their external features with their internal makeup.

most pertinently contrasted with the internal sources of distress for anorexia nervosa or body dysmorphic disorder it is now widely accepted that the distress of gender dysphoria is not an intrinsic part of being transgender but is the result of the remaining societal stigma that accompanies the condition. that is to say one can have gender dysphoria and be perfectly well-adjusted and healthy psychology whereas BDD and anorexia nervosa and all the like are by definition mental illnesses.
