    Recycle and Scavenge Testing

Tested new native Recycle trait on RNG. No recycle gear on at all, 5/5 Recycle merits, and working on the assumption that the description of Recycle merits isn't lying/broken as of last update (still says 5% per).

Exactly 1000 shots (1018 - 18 interrupts due to switching to new worm), 209 arrows used. That puts RNG99 Recycle at ~54.1% (55% looks like a likely, if slightly odd, candidate given that sample size). Somewhat interestingly, that makes AF3+2 head the only Recycle gear needed to hit cap.

Will test more later to confirm with a larger sample size, and confirm a hard cap at 95% with trait + merits + gear.

Well merits + nq af1 head and entois is definitely not 100% but damn is it close. Sadly can't find the thoughts for +2 right now lol. 122 shots used up 7 bolts. Super small sample size but enough to show not 100% and is about 95%. Also to note I scavenged and got 3 of the 8 total I had used in zone back without merits or gear. Rng much cheaper now

    Edit: +2 still isn't 100% /sadface

Just noticed the bgwiki page for recycle is missing confirmed values for most gear. I'll have to dig through old notes to find my data, but I personally tested almost every recycle piece I had:

    Scout's Beret 25%
    Scout's Beret+2 25%
    Libeccio Mantle 5%
    Entois Trousers 2~3%
    Paddock Trousers 1~2%

Didnt want to update the wiki until I find my data, but I did ~1000 shots with each piece so most values should be fairly accurate. The bonus on the legs is so small it was difficult to pin down exact values (not that either are worth using anyways).

Thanks! I was wondering why everyone seemed to know Scout's Beret +2's potency except me!

Also, just to confirm, the +1 TP/merit level is after Store TP, right?

Completely independent of Store TP/delay. I get 5TP/proc from both annihilator and loxely bow.

Gonna go ahead and call Recycle cap 95%.

1008 shots, 8 interrupts, 71 arrows used for a total of 92.9% at the end (though it fluctuated above/below 95% the whole time, so feel fairly confident that its correct). This means that for a RNG with recycle merits, which I see no reason to not have now, the only piece of recycle gear worth considering is af2+2 hat, which puts you at (over, actually) cap.

On a side note, one scavenge at the end returned 52/71 arrows for a grand total effective recycle rate of 98.1%.

Was that scavenge with gear/merits? Cause the few times I've been using albeit with much less used I'm getting more like 1/3-1/2ish returned each time

That was merits only (5/5), haven't bothered to grab my old af1 feet yet.

I'd like to get some testing done on scavenge, but the amount of time it will take to burn through that much ammo with a minimum recycle rate of 55% ... ugh. Never thought I'd complain about too much recycle lol.

maybe a /rng test lol. At least that's what I was thinking of with like machine xbow... god so much to test from the update though. Or just keep logs whenever you use rng maybe? Like how much you started with how much you used up and then scavenge. I find it odd that they lowered recast timer though. It doesn't seem beneficical at all to do it sooner then right before you are about to leave zone

Ya, I've started to collect notes each time I scavenge (and I've bugged the other rngs in ls to do the same as well). Will report back when I have enough data to draw some conclusions from, I don't think I can suffer through testing that flat out.

Will eventually do Recycle cor tests too, but need to get awilda's first, no way I'm doing tests with 582 delay gun lol. If I can talk a few other people into helping with tanking/levelsync, I'll try and pin down tiers for rng too.

    Recycle and Scavenge Testing

I just finished testing the base recycle trait for corsair at level 99.

    Data:

    Shots fired:
    Player Range Dmg Range % Hit/Miss R.HR % R.Acc %
    Teiei 10214 100.00 % 551/18 96.84 % 96.84 %

    Total number of shots: 569

Total number of bullets expended: 395

    Shots per bullet ratio: 1.4405

    Recycle Rate: 1.4405 - 1.0 = 0.4405

Corsair's base rate of recycle at level 99 is approximately 45% within a 95% confidence interval.

Um shouldn't rate be recycle proc/shots fired?

I get that at a ~30.5% recycle proc rate (so probably 30%?) unless my maths is being awful. 174 bullets saved out of 569 shots.

Yeah, actually. Of the 569 shots he fired, 174 of them procced Recycle. 174/569 = 30.6% proc rate

How does Recycle interract with multiple shots? Would that have any bearing on it since he doesn't mention if he used it. I assume he didn't though.

    Manibozho Gloves

Woops, sorry bout the math error

I did another test using the Manibozho Gloves:

    Shots Fired: 660
    Bullets expended: 396

So that's 264 bullets recycled which gives a rate of 0.4 or 40%

Seems the gloves have a 10% recycle rate after subtracting the base 30%.

Scavenge isn't random. It returns a little under half of whatever amount of Ammo I use. Burning 99 bullets gets me 48 back every time. There are two options:
    1) floor(number lost/2)-1
    2) floor(number lost*number slightly less than 0.5)

I prefer the first option, which would mean that the best way to use Scavenge is to pop it once before you zone.

    Edit:
Spent 73, got 35 back. So far it still fits formula 1.
Spent 3, got 1 back. Fits formula 2 and doesn't fit formula 1.
Battlemod told me I got 0 back when I actually got 1 back for reasons unclear to me, so I messed up my initial conclusions. Looks like it's just a number less than .493 and more than .484.

No merits or AF1 feet. Apparently my AF1 feet were dropped at some point, so getting those back would take some time.
