Mayweather vs Pacquiao IS TONITE. GET HYPE.

Reserving/Posting in a potentially ATG thread

Top Rank's Bob Arum said a deal is looming, and both fighters had a "business meeting" in Pacquiao's hotel room in Miami a couple days ago

I doubt it'll be announced during the actual Super Bowl, my guess is tonight or Saturday, with maybe the fighters actually being at the SB for interviews or w/e

Fight is being negotiated for May 2nd 2015

Nah it'll break every PPV record once it happens

Was Hagler leonard 6 years too late?

Floyd and Manny are both still top 3 fighters in the entire sport

To a less than casual fan like myself it seems too late. Would have been nice if it was before Pac got robbed by Bradley and ktfo by Marquez

Yup. It'll have huge numbers but it could've been a much bigger event before Pac lost two.

I don't disagree with the points you two make

It could've been much bigger after pacquiao knocked out Cotto

Still gonna be a great fight!

Gonna be a shit a fight, cause Paq sucks now. It'll make huge money if it happens but I don't give a shit anymore. Several years ago, this could have saved boxing, especially if they had rematches but at this point, boxing is dead.

Boxing's hilariously dead. A withered husk of its former glory, and I don't agree that this would have "saved" boxing back then. It'd have injected some temporary life into it, much like hooking an terminally ill person up to a hospital will delay the inevitable.

Boxing killed Boxing. Shitty, overhyped promoting, disproportionate pay, blah blah.

Gonna watch the shit out of this, though.

I'd watch the shit out of this, then go back to not giving a flying fuck about boxing.

Boxing is far from dead and currently has it's greatest depth of talent it's seen in a long time.

stoked on the matchup even if this should be their third fight not their first, and x2with Kappa, outside of the heavyweights boxing is in great shape, solid fighters up and down the divisions

I'd rather not say if it's doing good or bad, to me is dying, and because of shit like this.

The fact that Mayweather, being the pussy he is, is actually allowed to sit back and watch and wait for Manny to age and slow down before accepting a fight is what kills me. This fight should have happened years ago, but the boxer has too much control and can pick and choose who he wants to fight.

In what sport outside of boxing does the Champ actually get to sit back and say "Nah, don't want to put my title up vs this guy, he's too much of a threat" etc..

You're the Champ, you should be fighting the best when they're the best, not when they've aged and you decide it's time. That's what kills the sport for me.

Boxing's life and death has 0 to do with talent.

Non fans think it's dead because they don't see it in the media on a regular basis like other sports

This will change starting in March.

I'm not going to try to convince anyone otherwise. If you're not a fan of boxing now, than you never were and never will be until an angry black dude weighing over 200 pounds is knocking people out.

Cute, but I'll take that seeing as how I see your passion. We'll agree to disagree.

As long as there are Hispanics on this planet, Boxing will always be popular.
