What they could do to keep it all under hush hush is do the Press Release of Spiderman taking off his mask, without the actor. Just get everyones reaction. Have a stand in. Then, after its all filmed and done. Get like 10+ different male actors to do the role. Edit into movie before release. Bam, massive shocker as to who is spiderman and TMZ can eat a dick.

The biggest surprise? The Ultimate Universe's Spider-Man—meaning Miles Morales, not Peter Parker—is front and center.

Given movie tie in possibility and the obvious potential for Cross over marketing to teens/kids, what's the chances of this happening now that they have say in the movies ?

Thor is also a woman atm, but don't see them making Liam Hemsworth getting a sex change. I doubt very much the movie version will end up as Miles. To the vast majority of the casual fan base Spider-Man is only known as Peter Parker and most aren't even aware there's an affirmative action flavor available.

Oh I don't doubt marvel phase 4 has a female Thor and black Captain America, but I don't know that they will have enough Peter Parker yet for them to flip him to Miles. I mean the new Thor is outselling the old one pretty well. They might even pull in Ms Marvel and have 2 of them running around for diversity.

^Are you talking about movie phase 4? Not that that isn't a possibility, but I think the strongest lead on Captain America replacement is the Bucky to Cap route.

I don't see Miles as Spider-Man only because he has no connection to the Avengers in the comics.

bucky having a 9 picture deal pretty much makes bucky to cap an inevitability

Ya for sure but they can do that after Cap dies in civil war, plus deals get restructured all the time. Falcon became Capt in the comics, thats why I could see them flipping to him in phase 4, again this is what 5/6 years away so plenty of time.
