You can but it's not of any use for leveling desynth except for the very last few levels and it doesn't give anything interesting or valuable.

One more dumb question: Are there "starred" bonuses for blue/red scrip turn-in items? I feel like I saw someone mention that blue scrip got them occasionally, but I don't know if that was just them not knowing that some items had stars to represent rarity.

Just like grand company turn-ins, which give more XP if they have a star by them, red and blue scrips can have starred items too. You just need to keep an eye out for them. Check the list of turn-ins every day.

I would suggest picking an item and stock piling it if you have the time. Just make collectables ahead of time. It almost always works for me.

Is there anything like the Magian Trials from XI? Something your could work solo/duo on in spare time. Kinda like atmas but relevant.

Nope. Farming for the relic currencies (atma, tomes, materials for craft) is probably the only equivalent, but as you said, relevant.

In a sense, it is relevant, but will be outclassed the next patch and you have to resume work on it again. Double triple etc the pain if you want to stay up to date on more jobs.
