Nobody gives a shit that Welker can probably no longer spell his own name, but Edelman gets hit by Kam and goes back in and suddenly we need a rule change there, too.
Belichick lives rent free in everybody's head.
BTW, having a guy in a booth have the authority to take players off the field is just totally stupid. I really don't understand why having a Doctor on the sideline clearing people isn't enough. The potential for shenanigans just seems too high with a supreme booth-guy authority.
"Oh, Brady just got sacked. SEE YA! Back in the locker room you go for 15 minutes! The all-powerful booth has spoken."
Edit: I wonder how the new rule on eligible/ineligible will affect fake punts and fake field goals and stuff. Can a kicker throw a touchdown pass to a quarterback?
Belichick is saying it's going to impact punt returns or punt formations or something. Not sure how, but I'm comfortable saying that Bill probably understands the rule book better than the competition committee, and the unintended consequences of their knee-jerk rule changes
