The way he talked sounded like it was someone he knew. Sure we can't discount Luke completely, but it really wouldn't make a lot of sense for Luke to run into Jedis and Maul before ANH. I definitely think its Kenobi. Savage is just the distant second possibility I can think of.

I'm with Eurell on this. He says "he's alive" or "he lives" or something like that, so Maul has to have seen someone he encountered before. I would say there are three potential people -- Obi Wan, the obvious choice; the Emperor, who Maul has no reason to think is not alive; Anakin, although did they ever actually interact in Clone Wars. I guess it could be his brother as well, but I thought the Emperor killed him.

Yeah, he was dead as fuck. But Maul was cut in half and he lived lol, so who the fuck knows. Still betting on Kenobi!

One thing against Kenobi is the show creators for this thing keep nothing a secret. They love to reveal everything before it happens. I'd be shocked if Kenobi being on the show soon is the one thing they choose to keep a secret.

Started reading SW Comics to bridge the gap between ANH>ESB. There are issues dedicated to Kenobi when Luke was still a kid. Tbh there's not much you can do with Kenobi when he's on Tatoine. To my knowledge he never leaves the planet while Luke is still there. So if any and all chance of a Kenobi film or book it would have to be either before TPM or an off-shoot pre-clone war adventure and we have those in the form of Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Anakin, 5 issue comics.

Kenobi's whereabouts are pretty much accounted for throughout the canon. The only additional adventures you could possibly have with him, would be right before ANH. That's why I am leaning heavily on him having a final showdown with Maul.

I hope, if they ever do a Netflix series about Star Wars, the do one between ESB and ROTJ, because there's LITERALLY NOTHING in current official cannon between those two movies. Wasn't there talks about a TV Show about UNderworld? It would be perfect place for it to be there. Hell, you could even do "mention" cameos for the big characters like Luke. Or better yet, revive Shadows of the Empire storyline. And if the show is successfull, you can continue it past the ROTJ time too.

Not canon any longer but John Jackson Miller managed to put together quite a good novel for Kenobi and his time spent on Tatooine. There really is quite a bit you can do there if you take into account the Tusken relations with the people living there and any number of interesting things the denizens of Jabba's palace could be getting up to that a former Jedi might not want to let happen especially if it threatens the safety of one family in particular.

Underworld is constantly being talked about still but never has anything actually being done. The latest rumor was that Netflix would get involved with it and that Boba Fett might be the main character.
