One of my previous responsibilities of an application with my client was overshadowed by a guy the client employed. That's fine. I get asked every now and then about it but nothing complex. Sometime later my contract with the client renewed, excluding this application from it. The guy they employed has left sometime after that.
There is now a silly game of not letting me do anything with the application until the contract is adjusted.
For this application, I've not been disabled or lost my god privileges. I still have 100% access. Until the contract is adjusted, I just stand by, making doing the odd ultra urgent fix/investigation out of goodwill, but everything else is ignored.
This is nearly done, but for some reason, as part of this adjustment, the client, and my company, are saying they need to create entirely separate credentials for the server and the application for myself, I'm not allowed to use my current one. I ask why, and they said it's to differentiate my day to day work and the work I do for this application.
But the thing is, I don't ever touch the server/application unless I need to go fix something... making this all a bit moot... I tried to protest but very quickly ended on "nevermind... just roll with it" lol
