Don't worry, getting a cert is considered a win and fail.
For me it auto gives a 3k raise so it’s a win
That is why it is a win/fail. Most people get them for the money, even if they didn't learn anything new.
I did learn stuff
But I brain dumped after cuz I fail at theory exams
I have that one coming up, did they punch a lot of upgrade from skype / bandwith calculations etc. crap or was is mostly functionality, policies etc.?
After that it's Azure time, oh my ><
out of 46 question I had about 15 on bandwidth and skype ish
You really need to memorize the menu by heart Mostly the guests access since some comes from teams and others from Azure AD
They started me with a Case study and 10 question about the case study without been able to go back to review
I really hate the way MS makes you memorize the crap :/ I have been tinkering with this crap for 2 years now, and it's more muscle memory than anything
(thanks!)
Here is some question I got
1) You need to autorise Guest to collaborate in teams
You activate guest access in Org-wide settings > Guess access in the teams admin center
Does that fix the issue? Yes or no
2) You need to autorise Guest to collaborate in teams
You activate guest access in External Collaboration from Azure Active Directory
Does that fix the issue? Yes or no
3) You need to autorise Guest to collaborate in teams
You activate guest access in external collaboration in the teams admin center
Does that fix the issue? Yes or no
Whats the answer in your opinion? (don't cheat )
well this is going to go terribly, I had forgotten that there were AAD settings for external collaboration that would affect Teams
It's those "set it once and forget about it things". I have a love/hate relationship with SaaS services. It's nice that they sort out the upgrades and all that crap, but I wouldn't mind them slowing down the rate of changes to settings and UIs a little so I could keep up (even if the AAD thing is le olde).
But those two first kinda tricky, I mean you need to do al those steps, but they're not the only steps you need to take. External access it just communication with external (Skype) users, not to mention how much sharepoint permissions can mess up a team!. Oh dear, I might have been a bit cocky about how easy this would be!
oh and know your Communication oles
Aka communication admin
Communication engineer and Specialist
I did my own boo boo there the other day, turns out Cloud Device Manager isn't enough to retrieve Bitlocker keys, some days I wish I had gone for a different career path. But it's what happened!
I bought access to PluralSight, but the training material is over a year old, which is ancient in this context!
I dislike the idea exams especially in an IT Environment. Being tasked with memorizing stuff in an environment where it's extremely common to refer to another resource may it be human, internet or otherwise is really annoying. I know they need to test that you actually know it, but when it all comes down to it failing an exam because I'm just not that good around being tested I feel is a little unfair.
This so much, they should test understanding more and memorizing less. I am paying a fair few $s, they could assign me a practical problem to solve akin to an open book exam where I would document the understanding of the actual problem and solution or something. In the situation where Google or similiar is unavailable, everyone have bigger problems than Teams chat not working. More important that I can show an understanding of xyz.
Late to the party, but me too :D got it done today. That was actually a bit rougher than I thought it would be, they were heavy on the phone system integration and the powershell commands, which I have mostly theoretical knowledge about, but it was more than enough to pass. I think I might do some powershell studying before starting for real on the AZ-500 and the MS-500 stuff.
Anyone else wish they could tell their higher ups to fuck off? I got a PM that keeps IMing me questions and when I respond they somehow think calling my phone is a good idea instead of replying to my IM.
olds that want to communicate by phone, I kind of understand
people our age that video call me through the chat app to get an answer to a single non-time sensitive question, I will never understand.
