It's kind of amazing how much they've done. A lot of quality of life stuff that has existed on 3rd party software has become official parts of the game... of course we've improved upon that but still.

Ultimately like the weaning off of ps2 should have happened years prior. It's also unfortunate that when they did decide to wean themselves off of ps2, they made these big announcements as if they were getting rid of pull the plug on ALL servers. Let alone commit that they were going still upkeeping the game and add content.

Could still punch them for making those announcements only to go back on them entirely and keep the game running. When they posted that there'd be a big announcement, I got all my friends hyped who were on the brink of starting to play again. Kind of killed my friends's interest when they announced the game's impending end instead.

Just an FYI, I have been working on a History of FFXI project since the summer. Details how the game itself changed since pre-release. I am currently finished through 2006, and currently working on 2007.

Haven't gotten to the salvage bans yet, that was 1/22/09. I do plan on adding that in.

I touched on RMT/inflation/bots a bit, but not that much. Was Odin the first AV killed? I am not sure, but I would like to add that in. Regardless of glitch or not.

Pretty sure Odin was first. Kaeko was testing a lot of things. Eith people from different servers I think. In the end it was Limitbreak, BBQ and Teamkanikan (TK) that took it down.
