So in 2005, I had the opportunity to lot on E. Body and lost by seven points to a guy on Sylph named Frulond. It took me another ~4 years to finally get E. Body and I wanted to do it right.

We had a monopoly on Sandworm forever, but occasionally another LS would show up for a few weeks and we'd have to resort to some trickery. Think I held SW at the top of Zegham Hill for like 3 hours while watching Lost.

We had one JP guy in our LS who everyone loved: Shintarou! He had tons of JP friends and was active in their community, but he stayed in Symbiosis the entire time in existed. Miss that guy.

If you fed a green Apkallu in Zhayolm and no one else fed it, it would come over mountains to find you every time you entered the zone. This one was glued to me for like two months.

Dude, that name is super familiar. I'm almost positive we were in the same ls at some point. I had a galka DRG named Colossus.

Word, I remember that name lol Galka DRG is hard to forget. Might have been in the same LS or just partied a lot, I ran coffer keys/genkai/BCNMs a lot, etc. My old FFXI screen shots are on an old ass hard drive, I might try to dig it out sometime.

Speaking of those penguins, did anyone ever figure out how their hate system worked? I used to farm them way back in the day on my BST since hate seemed to go up way slower on it than my other jobs. I used to feed one a fish and walk all the way to the other side of the zone to merit on the Trolls on BST and it would follow me all the way there and hang around the whole time. It was some funny shit.

If no one else fed the same apkallu, the thing would be your buddy forever as far as I know. It also ignored all terrain obstacles as soon as you left the staging area. I used to have a clip of this freaking thing coming over a mountain to hang out near me. This one appeared in the middle of us fighting Cerberus, so I decided to take a break and hang out.

Same. I started playing as a 19 year old freshmen kid in college. Now I'm a 30 year old semi-adult. Met a lot of cool people in the game, but sadly only still in touch with a handful of them. I've played SWTOR and XIV, and while they are fun in their own ways, none of them have that sense of community that XI had. I mean, we were in that shit TOGETHER figuring out how everything worked. Turns out even the people who run the game still don't know how it works, as the recent "Blind: INT or MND?" dev posts have shown.
