I didn't think it was a definite that it would continue?

I was under the impression they were trying to make a standalone 12 episode show. Which is why I was so confused as to why they were creating all this long term structure.

well they didn't alter the story too much, just a few additional scenes not in the mangas. Here's to hoping for a 2nd season
