The Red Sox are very good and have depth at every position except catcher. Their staff is suspect but if Giants Even Year Bullshit is real then Red Sox Odd Year Bullshit might be too.

Their starting staff and bullpen are both terrible, and their pitching "depth" are all flawed 5th starters and a guy who can't hit 90 on his fastball. If it wasn't for the fact that the AL East is barely a tick above the NL East nobody would be thinking about them as a playoff team. They can probably hit their way to the division title but they can just as easily pitch themselves into the basement.

Oh God, FP is so bad. Losing Ron Darling was bad for the Nats crew.

With the exception of the Mets, the NL East has probably 4 of the 5 worst TV crews in the MLB. All of them are beyond bad.

As a cubs fan I would think you'd want Bryant to start the season in the minors for those 17 games so you could keep him from FA for another year down the line

I don't care to be honest. I think it could go one of three ways:

- he's going to become the next Giancarlo Stanton and the Cubs will throw a massive deal at him
- he's going to be good-but-not-great and sign a bridge deal to buy out his arb years
- he'll pancake and then who the fuck cares about one more year of team control

Anyway since it's only three weeks or whatever it's much more palatable than until June 1st so I'm fine with it.
