I'm assuming you're including Genisys when saying better than the last few? I actually liked Genisys so I'll be looking forward to this.

That's about as much of an impossible dream as the next Alien movie being as good as Aliens.

Alien 3 director’s cut is really fucking good. Still not as good as Aliens but it made a strong effort.

    Early reviews are decent:

I'm sure it will go up once the movie comes out.

Just got out, it's easily the best in the franchise since 2 (not that that's a high bar). The Rev-9 as a whole kinda sucked, Gabriel Luna just isn't intimidating and it comes across as such a ridiculous cheat code of a villain (and alot of the scenes with it's whole splitting/reforming just don't make sense), but everything else is pretty solid. Bringing Linda Hamilton back is definitely the best part.

Can pretty much guarantee you'll be entertained, just don't think too hard about the weird ass time travel plot holes it keeps spitting out (both in relation to 1/2 and within it's own plot)

Just saw it today. I loved the action scenes in it and it definitely is worth a watch and will be entertaining. That said:

    Spoiler: show
Hated how they killed John Connor. Really did not like AT ALL, the damsel in distress. I didn't care if she lived or died, didn't understand why they had to replace John with some terrible female version Some tiny 5'3 woman throwing punches, cmon now. Why the first almost hour of the film is in a different language or why they had to force so much PC and girl power into the movie. It felt they deliberately went out of their way to force an agenda and I don't like that in movies. Linda was looking really old and tired in this if I'm being honest, it was a little of a struggle to believe her in that role. A lot of story elements just didn't make sense but it was entertaining at the least.

Salvation at least had the balls to take place after judgement day; it coulda been cool but w/e, sucked. As bad as T3/Salvation are, this is somehow worse. The franchise is dead, let it die already.

This movie is in a league of its own in the franchise. Absolutely loved it. It's not Fury Road as far as being an action movie and also an incredible film, but it's head and shoulders above 1, 3-5, and depending on your nostalgia factor on par with or better than 2. Highly recommend.

Really loved it over 1 and 3-5, felt it was slightly worse then 2, but I think that's because nostalgia.

    Spoiler: show
Thank god they killed John Conner and SkyNet, was getting tired of the same old story with those two. Thought Legion future was a cool change of pace, sucks we know nothing about them, but makes sense no one would know their origin post apocalypse.

Also kept thinking: RIP Carl Pepehands, all he wanted to do in life was drapery! XD

I need to see this. As an aside, I actually really liked T3; no happy ending, Judgment Day is inevitable.

Just saw. I personally enjoyed it. Don't think it was better than 2 but I think that's because of the way movies were produced then as opposed to now.

    Spoiler: show
The way the T-1000 was going for those kills, you put yourself in those situations and you feel like you could've survived even if the chances are low. With the way Rev-9 was going for kills, there's no fkn way I could see myself getting out of any of those situations without getting murdered. Maybe the first highway encounter but the encounters after that nobody should've been surviving that shit save everyone that was machine and maybe Grace although after the first encounter, her weakness seemed like such a huge flaw that they made very little attempt to prevent.

I really don't feel the future story matters that much for me because the movie has always been about being an action survival thriller before story. Seeing how everyone survives (or doesn't) the encounters is more exciting than the typically cliche story about the machines wanting to kill humans because reasons.
