I can wholeheartedly say it was better than Genisys (ugh that spelling...)
That's not saying much..
Can’t really say much without spoilers, I mean I didn’t hate it, I was entertained for 2 hours /shrug
Is this as good as T2? Better? Worse?

I doubt it's going to be better than T2. That is such a high fucking bar.

I'm happy its "pretty good." Been waiting for a Terminator movie worth watching for a while now! (never saw Genisys)
Early reviews are decent:

I'm sure it will go up once the movie comes out.
Just got out, it's easily the best in the franchise since 2 (not that that's a high bar). The Rev-9 as a whole kinda sucked, Gabriel Luna just isn't intimidating and it comes across as such a ridiculous cheat code of a villain (and alot of the scenes with it's whole splitting/reforming just don't make sense), but everything else is pretty solid. Bringing Linda Hamilton back is definitely the best part.
Can pretty much guarantee you'll be entertained, just don't think too hard about the weird ass time travel plot holes it keeps spitting out (both in relation to 1/2 and within it's own plot)
Just saw it today. I loved the action scenes in it and it definitely is worth a watch and will be entertaining. That said:
Spoiler: show
Salvation at least had the balls to take place after judgement day; it coulda been cool but w/e, sucked. As bad as T3/Salvation are, this is somehow worse. The franchise is dead, let it die already.
Spoiler: show
This movie is in a league of its own in the franchise. Absolutely loved it. It's not Fury Road as far as being an action movie and also an incredible film, but it's head and shoulders above 1, 3-5, and depending on your nostalgia factor on par with or better than 2. Highly recommend.

Really loved it over 1 and 3-5, felt it was slightly worse then 2, but I think that's because nostalgia.
Spoiler: show
I need to see this. As an aside, I actually really liked T3; no happy ending, Judgment Day is inevitable.
Just saw. I personally enjoyed it. Don't think it was better than 2 but I think that's because of the way movies were produced then as opposed to now.
Spoiler: show
I really don't feel the future story matters that much for me because the movie has always been about being an action survival thriller before story. Seeing how everyone survives (or doesn't) the encounters is more exciting than the typically cliche story about the machines wanting to kill humans because reasons.
