The peeps have spoken, DOA. The movie doesn't have the legs to pull off an Edge of Tomorrow comeback. I hope this flop wil further cement the death of the franchise.
They didn't have to end the franchise, seeing as how there are many that are still going and profiting like Star Wars and Jurassic Park etc. They simply screwed the story up and made very bad casting choices imo. I hope this is a message to stop the politics through movies, nobody gives a shit about it when they just wanna see a Terminator.
I'm not gonna lie though...
Spoiler: show
This movie could do $20 over opening week but if I find it entertaining then that's all that matters to me. And from what people have commented so far it sounds great so I'm looking forward to it.
I probably wasn't going to see this in theaters. Mostly positive takes on here have me thinking I will
I would probably see it a second time in theaters.
I had forgotten I was going to see this with my folks when I go to visit next week so I'll be catching it a second time.
I'd also say it's not really fair because one movie being shit definitely effects the next movie in the series opening. Even more so when you have a few not well received ones in a row. Now once word spreads we can get a better idea on it's merit. That said I expect it to stay at meh critic score due to being more of the same but prettier but that the people who are actually going to watch it will know what they are getting into and enjoy it for the fun action that it promises to keep the audience score relatively high
On the other hand I still believe Genisys would've done better R rated... and if they didn't spoil pretty much the only big moment/twist in the whole fucking movie in the trailers. Wouldn't have made it good per se but might at least still been a decent popcorn flick.
All kindz of excuses up in this bitch, you interpret the data whichever way you want.
Another Edge of Tomorrow? That would be tight! Now once word spreads we can get a better idea on it's merit
I loved Edge of Tomorrow, would def see a sequel.
I was just watching the original T2 and man, how sad they got the cast together and bombed on the script so bad.
Sequel is happening. Waiting on Cruise to shoot MI 7 and 8 first.
Honestly don't really need to interpret data like that. Between with how bad it's doing and how most people would call the movie just fine or at least better than the last 2 in a franchise that people don't care about after the last 2 and in coming weeks it will have some real competition in the box office it's projected to be a huge loss and plans for future films are canceled. They just need to reboot the series.... still salty it ended on a cliff hanger because it got cancelled after they thought there would be more
But yeah I'd love more edge of tomorrow.
Wasn't able to see it last week, just got back from it.
It's worth seeing, deserves to do better.
Like, go to a matinee price showing and skip the concessions if you're on the fence.
If you want a decent action movie it's fine. If you're a big fan of T2 it's shit.
Just saw it. Most fun I've had in a terminator movie since T2.
Why did they switch the cast from the last one? I liked TG, thought it was fun.
Will skip this one until its on home video though, lost money on ghostbusters. They need to give the femenist propaganda a rest.
Women can do things = feminist propaganda
