Had the initial thought with the scientists, too, but...

The ability simply being called "collapse" is still open to interpretation. If we were to run with the time theory, it's possible her power isn't so much to cause earthquakes, but to instead age inorganic materials at a rapidly accelerated pace. So, in the case of the school building, it'd be like it was suddenly hundreds of years old and collapsed under its own weight due to the decay of wood, rust of metal, etc.. I also want to say her hair going white is related to this, but given her brother's eyes glow briefly and none of the other characters seem to immediately display a trigger sign, that's probably just more wishful thinking than speculation.

Part B:
Love letter to old Adam West batman show. Wander as Christian Bale playing Adam West. The whole episode was hilarious, and what a time to hear that final line. Weird Al was great villain and I'm happy he is coming back later in the season.

I refer you to Clannad secret/happy ending. Pretty much the further along these series you go the less weird/depressing they get.

Starting watching Gate. Went in with low expectations but it's actually pretty good. The sight of a fantasy time army marching and holding shields and them getting shot at with machine guns, tanks, and helicopters is a sight to behold.

I wonder how much of that is lost on Japanese audiences. But still, that was pretty much the best scene of the show so far.

When they were getting the Wagner CD I was like "oh no they didn't" and then the line about sitting on their helmets so they don't get their balls blown off... I was like "is this real life?". That whole scene was pretty much the best reference. I kinda wonder if it was like that in the manga or if the anime guys are just having some fun.

Gate has been a darkhorse anime for me this season. Really well done so far.

Yeah. The premise originally didn't seem to appealing, the intro made it seem kind of haremy, so I was turned off too it. It's not really a harem, the main character is very likable, etc. I also like how they do split screen sort of stuff. I don't see that in anime a lot. Seems very western influenced.
