What's wrong with Crisis Core, Dirge or AC when it comes to canon exactly (related to the original VII I mean)? Before Crisis isn't even a thing outside of Japan so I can't comment on that. Also Nomura isn't omniscient here, there's plenty of other heads working on this project alongside him from the original team.

I gave up around the XIV 1.0 and XIII era. Not even Bravely Second or XIV ARR (And beyond) could escape.

Squeenix as a publisher tho is better as long as they don't strangle dev teams for not selling an obscene amount of units.

Even KH3 doesn't escape the dilemma that Squeenix can't produce an inhouse game that manages to somehow escape a sort of 'development hell'. Taking 10 years to produce a game that has a staff in the hundreds cannot be profitable by any margin.

Or they get a product that would be 200% better and scrap it for an engine with better hair physics and throw it out a year later unfinished. Anyway, my take on the new creation is they're trying real hard to convince me I'm not paying 4 times full priced for an updated 20 year old game. I'm not buying your schtick SQUENIX!

I would hope E3 this year would clarify a lot of things, but I really doubt it. Maybe TGS but even that too I doubt.

Also, thanks to the P5 anime, I've started replaying that game and really coming to remember how fantastic and full a game it is.
