I'm not so sure that's an ATB bar in the classic sense (old FF7 style I mean) honestly - if you look at the video when the characters attack, it seems to be going up a set amount each hit, then I believe is fully depleted when they use special attacks? I'm not sure what it means when the bar is red, probably just a marker that it's fully depleted.

Actually, you can make a number of inferences/speculations just by watching the video:

1) The game will be very camera oriented (pan over characters, vs Top Down Camera over field in original FFVII).
2) Characters can and will be individually selected for commands. (See part where camera pans over Barret, while Cloud is in the background performing actions).
3) There is an ATB-like gauge, and a Limit gauge.
4) "ATB gauge" may only correspond to a special attack (not Limit Break).
5) The Limit Breaks of old may actually only be combo finishers now when the ATB gauge is charged (See Big Shot & Climhazzard -- no Limit Break bar was charged).
6) There may be a possible action-queuing system going on now to keep the battles fluid and dynamic.
7) Characters continue to take damage during using specials and abilities (Barret was getting shot and taking damage while using Big Shot).

I doubt they will make any large changes to the dynamics of battle now. We'll probably see some UI changes and that's it.

Can't believe how amazing the game looked, even if it seemed to be pretty linear; however the reactor part of the game was already linear so maybe it really isn't once we get to the slums, etc. They did such an amazing job on Barret though holy cow...

Well, getting a gameplay trailer this early is quite the surprise....if that is actually what the gameplay is going to look like, and not just some CGI with a UI thrown on top of it. Totally cool with the changes, but want to see more. This is still probably really far away from being released though.
