After playing the first, my big concern was that this was game was again going to be the story of two halves -- a great South Park experience wrapped around mediocre gameplay. I've read a couple reviews so far and none of them have assuaged that concern..
Going to wait to see what folks here think of it before deciding if I'll pick it up or wait.
I went ahead and pre-ordered from Best Buy so I get the 10$ pre-order cert. First game I've pre-ordered in a very long time. My reasoning is I know it'll be about 15 hours and then I can trade it in for most of my money back. Considering how much I loved the first one this is worth it to me.
Still trying to finish Shadow of War before I pick this up but I loved the first one, so I've got high hopes.
Honestly the gameplay looks to be identical to the first except that the battle plane has an X and Y axis now as opposed to the basic turn-based style in the first. So basically regular FF to FF-Tactics. Obviously it won't be no FF-Tactics but I figure if you liked the first, this one should be good too.
I just hope this game is longer. Could easily beat the first one in less then 10 hours.
/v/ was saying it was shorter than the first
Short or not I'm loving the game so far.

Yeah idk about length but this game is awesome.
Mine still hasn't shipped (expected delivery Thursday) wtf amazon
Mine shipped but to my old address. Need to wait until the weekend to go get it.
As long as it's enjoyable I'll be happy. Random moments like you opening a door to find a gimp fucking a horse are what I'm paying for lol.
So a funny moment happens if you try to use a door code before you actually find it in game:
That is fucking amazing.
Hahaha
Dat anti-speed run tech.
Finally picking this up later today
I beat it with an in game time of about 20 hours (slightly less but I have a few things left to collect). I did every sidequest minus a few collectibles and beat the optional super boss. Overall impressions are good but I think I prefer Stick of Truth over this to be honest. FBW combat is more interesting because you have to think about positioning to get all that extra bonus damage from knockbacks or AoEs but because gear is nothing but a stat stick now, and the few pieces that have special effects aren't all that special, it loses it's appeal pretty quickly since most fights can be solved by the same strategy.
The ending also wasn't nearly as epic as Stick of Truth and the final boss fight was a pretty big let down. If I had to grade it I'd give it a B- with Stick of Truth around an A-/A, it's entertaining but when compared to it's predecessor it falls short on a lot of levels.
