I fucking hate region specific bonuses.

Coming to Steam March 10th
Square Enix introduced the unique array of weapon types, fluid combo system, and fast-paced battle mechanics of NieR: Automata in a new action-packed trailer.
The game will feature four weapon types available to protagonist 2B (small swords, large swords, spears and combat bracers) that can be switched mid-combo to maximize 2B’s range of abilities and effectiveness. Players can also unlock a diverse arsenal of weapons and upgrades to the player’s “Pod” support system to enhance their gameplay.
Lots of confusion about the release date.
SE removed the video with the 3/10 Steam date for one that only features the 3/7 PS4 date:
But apparently the one with the 3/10 release date was encoded more recently, so it points towards not being an old date, but just a mistaken wrong upload:
Seems really sketchy either way, you'd think being only 2 weeks away they wouldn't be hiding the release date of the PC version if it's due out so soon, but that video was made so recently that they should know whether it's going to make that date or not.
Japanese version contains English dual audio & text

Told myself I wouldn't do it but I couldn't resist once I saw the game was in English. I bought the game on JP PSN since I'm gone the entire week for NA release.
Should've taken days off from work, fuck today is going to be awful. Can't remember the last time I've been this hyped for a game.
You fuck I hate you I want to play this so bad.
But yeah super tempted to do the same except I'm pretty sure I have this ordered already.
I'm listening to the music Merka Dee is uploading. Makes me wish I had bought the black box edition.
For those looking to get this, here's a nice video series to introduce people to the story of the series as a whole, or serve as a recap if it's been a while. I'd thoroughly recommend watching the whole thing (Drakengard 1 > 2 > 3 > Nier for order), but you could skip right to Nier and get the gist of it. About ~45 minutes for each Drakengard game, ~95 minutes for Nier.

Is there a better tl;dw because I'm not spending 4~ hours to learn the backstory of a game.
There's that valkyrieaurora video but it's significantly worse in both information and pacing. It's ridiculously information dense without providing much context for it, in my opinion.
Maybe things will change in the third/fourth playthrough and no doubt the story will still end up connected somehow, but I really don't think people will miss much if they just jump into Automata.
Very light spoilers, the few connections I've seen so far:
Spoiler: show
Gameplay
Showcased elements include:
• “Reliquary” System – Players can return to where their characters were defeated to gain additional buffs, or even gain an ally to assist in their battle against the fearsome machines.

By using up to three Pods at the same time, players can also charge their skills to make them up to three times stronger.

• Fishing Minigame – Players can catch a variety of fish through this mini-game to sell or gain temporary beneficial status effect.
Is the date for reals this time? If so, I might wait simply because I'm still hooked in Berseria and Horizon. And getting Zelda soon.
erection until march 17th
Yoko Taro the absolute madman, what a ride
Can't wait, I have been really wanting to play this just not on PS4 /:
