It's a distant, distant sequel. You miss out on some nostalgia cues and references but it's entirely enjoyable on its own merit.

There's a lot leading up to this game but in terms of what impact it has on the actual story it's very slim. The game also explains some previous events for you with a somewhat detailed summary the implications of which you might not fully understand.
Having said that, it's the kind of game that you have to infer a lot of what happened yourself (in terms of how the prequels lead up to it), but it paints a clear picture even without playing the previous game.
Awkward translations abound (which is the source of the initial concern), but it looks like there isn't a 1080p lock for the PC version.
Okay, any doubt about this game I had evaporated while doing the Carnival stage on new game +
Got my Plat. I love the new title screen after the final ending.
I knew what would happen, did it anyway.

Dunno if you guys saw, but Yoko said he'd do a Drakengard collection on the PS4 if SE paid for it.
GMG sent me my code. Preloading <3
The only thing that bums me out about this game, sadly, is that Breath of the Wild came out so close to it and inevitably people start to draw comparisons for whatever reason. It's a game that some people don't seem to "get" and while its "slow burn" approach to story is great if you love it, those who don't seem to feel like it's a chore.
I mean to hell with them game's amazing but it's pretty disappointing that some are dumping on it before finishing more than A.
Yeah, I saw a lot of stubborn idiots that couldn't understand that the next paths is not completing the same thing again and complaining that the game forces you to play it multiple times, lol.
Spoiler: show
Sounds like there is a weird ass bug in the PC version that selecting full screen will scale to whatever your resolution is from 720p. Have to play windowed and use something like Borderless Gaming to fix it (the game does not support Borderless Fullscreen by default)
4k is supported, but 60 fps cap is in effect.
How does this not have borderless fullscreen. What year is it?
Oh how do I get the stuff from the day one edition?
Edit: nvm its in key items
60fps master race?
Played for a bit and all I can think is, goddamn this game is super Japanese
5 attempts and about 2 hours later, I finally got to the first saving area on Hard lol. Liking the game so far. Although, I'm experiencing some horrible frame drops (or maybe pacing?) during cutscenes.
