    An i180+ DPS can take two without heals, and throw a Second Wind between them as a safety net. The orbs do about 5,000 each and I have 12,800 HP as DRG, with Second Wind usually recovering ~2,300. I could almost take 3 of them.

    That may be an option for you guys.

    There is a thing in A4 where one of the legs will start venting steam and it loses it's stun resistance briefly. I tried stunning it once but I'm not sure what if anything happened. It might be during/after adds but I only noticed it once.

    As opposed to a full run of coil with no -insert your job- drops?

    I agree it's cumbersome and certainly far from perfect but I think I would rather this than experiencing 4 week dry spells and watching dupes the entire team has drop to the floor.

    On the other hand, the old loot system let me deck out 2 jobs faster than most people could finish 1. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose.

    One leg will steam right before the DPS buster random laser attack... but stunning it doesn't actually seem to do anything at all. Maybe it reduces the damage slightly but I don't pay enough attention to notice. I hate to call "bug" on a mechanic we don't understand but... possible bug?

    The problem isn't in it being cumbersome, it's the psychological effect of seeing the drop you want and losing lot on it multiple times.

    Get in a group that agrees to do 4 runs. That way you're guaranteed a drop.

    Now if you're looking for something specific, you could still get screwed -- but honestly, Savage will be doable at i180 (plus you will be able to get Esoterics), so there's no reason really at this point to not just grab whatever drops and fill in the gaps later.

    I've finished three pieces already (feet and 2x accessories). If I get Crank x2 I can finish Hands as well.

    Your problem isn't the system, then, is not playing in a static, because what you describe still happened in Coil when not in a group of orgainzed people with an established loot distribution.

    Yeah I'm a little pissed at my static right now because our 2 healers and 1 dps aren't even i170 yet to enter Alex :/ or else we would just spam and get drops, instead we are going in with 4-6 people and the randoms keep beating me :/

    do the majority of the groups have dps help with orbs?

    I've heard it mentioned, and I generally help out a bit. There are 0 phases in that fight that are DPS checks so there's no reason not to, if it seems to help.

    Our healers and OT take most of the orbs in the final phase. We treat it like T13 and people just call out whats close to them.

    I'm sure these balls will be a bigger deal in Savage when they give a stack or something.


    During the leg phase MT takes the orbs near the right leg, OT left leg and healers/dps anything in the middle.

    Everyone helps with them based on proximity (and remaining HP), basically.
