Happy to see he hasn't dropped the political commentary to appease a wider audience.

And the Colbert chant persists. I might actually start watching late night television after last night.
Well if the show was going to fail in any capacity I'm glad its the band part. Rest of the show was spot on so I can over look the band sucking which is the part of the show I cared the least about to begin with.
Struggling to find it to watch :/
A great band goes a long way to making the show better, not just with their music but their comedy. Leno's band always sucked, Letterman had the legendary Paul Schaefer, Jimmy Fallon has the best band currently with the Roots, Reggie Watt on James Corden is great too. Conan's band was better when Max Weinberg was there. I don't think Craig Ferguson ever had a band, but Jeoffrey was dope so he gets a pass.
Labamba > Max Weinberg
Finished watching the episode earlier today. Either the band was shit, or hearing about the band being shit made me actually pay attention to the band and think it was shit. Skipped the musical number at the end.
I ended up doing that for most of Colbert's musical guests anyway. The sound stage in his studio was pretty bad.
Also in the first episode when he started going over the transplanted curios like Captain America's shield and such, I was really hoping Michael Stipe would be there also.
This segment with Biden is hitting me right in the feels.
God, I'm about to bawl over this Biden interview. This is so much better than any late night show.
Wow, that's a huge audience.
Guest lineup for week 3
Trump?!?
Not sure if he intended to do so but Colbert pretty much got Biden to talk himself out of running for president.
Biden has to know how much support he'd get, but yeah he pretty much made it sound like his heart just isn't in it any more.
