Just tried a gym battle while walking by and I think connection got fucked while my phone tried to get on harvard eduroam and I got absolutely nothing for it.

So there is an option to turn off AR mode when catching Pokemon in the top right corner, which turns off the camera functionality. This makes this way less socially awkward, as you don't need to point the phone in a certain direction, and can just point the phone wherever you want.

Haven't tested it but I assume it would, as it's just a static background when you are catching.

When I get server dead, I restart phone and it works fine.

Doesn't even need that much for me. Just completely close/exit the app (like reseting during a FFRK fight) and reopening does it for me

Also ugh an Arcanine somewhere nearby at work but only 5 mins until back lumch ends so won't be able to find it. Also this is a busy as fuck road area so every chance it's like in the middle of the road or some shit

This game absolutely sucks if you live in an isolated place. Yesterday I was countryside, and the only pokemon that even showed up was the starter one. Closest pokestation was an hour away, closest gym hour and half away.

Back in Stockholm now though and there's 3 gyms within a 10 min radius, and stations EVERYWHERE.

So yeah, don't bother unless you live in a city.

At work i noticed a pink petal poke spot down the street. Bailed on work to go see what it contained. Server legit died when I was 5 steps away. Q_Q

Anybody do a gym battle and keep a pokemon there? What happens when you lose the gym, do you get your pokemon back?

And yeah living in the city is great for this. Pokemon left and right, stations left and right, like 5 gyms within a mile from where I live

And lol Gym can move? When i came back from my walk there was a gym near my house, that wasn't there when i left
