I've had this. Lost a couple 10k and several 5k eggs this way. Annoying as fuck.

Check your journal. It lists hatched egg results. There is a bug where egg hatches run away....

Guy on FB did some testing with the update. The Go Plus support they added will track your distance with the app minimized and phone locked. So looks like you won't need to buy the Go Plus for it. Maybe it will just be more accurate with it?

Anyone else see the "naming your pokemon after whatever autocorrect makes it" thing? I might try it for funsies.

Because you're only given one chance to catch it. On the plus side, it works as a GPS device for eggs and buddies.

Phone on, App active, but Screen can be locked. Not a total battery saver, but better than it is currently.

Saw someone with the watch on the ride home tonight. Dude was literally flicking his wrist about every 20-30s. It lights up red/white/blue/yellow. You have to click it each time, I assume, it vibrates. It looks genuinely ugly. We were on the bus so I guess that's why it went off so much. The older woman next to him changed seats after about 10 minutes or so. Definitely not on my things to buy list and I'd probably ask for a gift receipt.

Medals to finally be worth a damn, Completed tiers will help to catch Rare Pokemon

According to Niantic Labs, the new feature grants a catch bonus when medals are earned once certain types of Pokemon such as Gardener, Kindler, Psychic, and others are caught.

The bonuses will help players when trying to catch a rare, related type. When reaching a higher tier for the Kindler Medal, for example, the bonus to catch another fire-type increases. This will help those who still need to add Pokemon such as Charmander, Vulpix or Ponyta to their collection.

Pokemon with multiple types will give out an average bonus. Niantic explained how this works using Pidgey as an example: “Pidgey is a Normal and Flying type. The bonus in this case would be the average of Normal-type and Flying-type bonuses.”
