Once D gets that first kill, everyone on the other team either needs to flash the fuck out or otherwise seriously attempt to disengage. Jesus, the insta-5 stack is crazy.

IWC teams always go 0-6, they say. Shouldn't get a slot at worlds, they say.
This weekend is proof that the World's format can be entertaining as fuck. I loved it all.
C9 fucking hype train.
Brazilian teams always perform at least somewhat respectably, however teams like BKT are so far outclassed by everyone in the tournament
uhh, BR teams never really perform well. unless by perform well you mean play spoiler and force alliance out of the 3way tie for 1st? pretty sure that's all BR has ever done at worlds
Uh for a wild card region, not getting assraped six games in a row is pretty respectable. They can take games off the best EU team and a pretty good LMS team as they've shown and have literally been the only wild card region to do so
last year at worlds they were 1-5(somehow beat alliance so c9 could advance), i'm guessing they will go 1-5 this year too lol. i wouldn't really call that respectable but to each their own
Pain actually doesn't lose till around 18 minutes even against the best team in the group.
Teams like gg.eu BKT and that arab team last year were losing in the first 5.
I'd say Brazil is vastly ahead of the other wild card regions
maybe they are ahead of the other wildcard regions but if you got rid of wildcard they would still be the weakest region by a long shot.
brTT their "famous" ADC who has been on paiN for years was only 2.2k elo in NA, i duo'd some games with him a long while ago, this was while the pros were hovering between 2800-3000.
i think the worst NA/EU team would still shit all over the best brazil team
The point is that they aren't quite as shit as they were before. They are developing as a region.
Are they relevant yet? Almost.
Could PNG give low ranking EU/NALCS teams a fight? Maybe. I'd put them on par with a Team Coast or Giants Gaming.
I'm happy to see them take a game again. It really helps the region. I doubt they take another game but I've seen weirder things at World's (3-0 OG/C9)
from 2013-14-15 wildcard teams have an overall record of 3-31. that's about the statistics that a pro goes when climbing from unranked to diamond
their wins are kabuum over alliance, pain over flash wolves and gg.eu over TSM. the only team there that was an upset is probably kabuum over alliance, TSM trolled the gg.eu game iirc by picking teemo and flash wolves were severly over hyped on top of the fact that pain is still the best wildcard to ever be at worlds.
yeah i was meaning it the other way around, as in a pro will even lose 3 or 4 games at low elos just due to how league of legends works, thus backing up my "wildcards are free wins" mentality.
Balls.
The difference is, that loosing 3-4 games doesn't mean anything to a pro climbing. That one game cost Alliance the bracket spot and FW the tied first place (so far). As others mentioned, that "free win" mentality is fundamentaly wrong. They have been relevant last year and we have to wait another week to see how much of an impact they have this. It doesn't matter at all if they'd only win 1 out of 10, because Worlds isn't a Bo10.
